Saw them at Railroad Revival Tour in New Orleans, never heard of em before then- fell in love. Seeing them tomorrow at Mavericks in Jacksonville, then Bonnaroo!! Them and Mumford & Sons = <3.
You are so lucky to have caught that so-called "tour!"
More lucky than you realize, I also got to see JazzFest since it was the same weekend. But RRT was pure magic and I've never in my life seen anything like that. It was like watching a family up there, they all collaborated (With Marcus Mumford singing lead vocals for Take Em Away, AMAZING) And the lines were majorly blurred as to which band was playing when. The train itself was amazing, the people were amazing, New Orleans was amazing...if they ever do it again and OCMS, ESMZ (they were AMAZING!) and M&S are the bands doing it, I'm going to all 6 stops next time. I can't gush enough on how amazing they all 3 were.
Because of that, I am so smitten with OCMS as well as ES&MZ now. Never even heard of em before then! So today (tonight) I'm driving to Jax to see OCMS, then OCMS and M&S at Bonnaroo, then M&S in Atlanta (Have to leave Bonnaroo a day early though:/) then OCMS and M&S at ACL.
Crazyness...but what amazing music, and the fact that "folk" or "bluegrass" is becoming slightly more widely appreciated is so awesome and refreshing!

I'm also very excited about folk and bluegrass coming back into mainstream popularity. On the whole, I feel that the music that is becoming popular is getting better.

Agreed. I love all types of music of course, but Rap and Hip Hop has dominated for SO long...and fake country like Taylor Swift (no offense at all to her. She's richer than I am.). Granted some of it was good, but not all of it.
Whenever something new becomes popular it's so refreshing. Especially when it's not some commercialized auto-tuned fodder. OCMS have a brilliant musicality and personality about them that make Americana fun!!
The show was fantastic. They started at around 7:20 and played till about 10:30 with a set break. Also, the venue they played at is brand new. It was on old church that was converted into a venue. Talk about a perfect setting for their music.
