Definitely digging their album... Can't wait to see them live... Last year the Roo lineup lead me to the discovery of the Local Natives, and now this year the Head and the Heart...
This is definitely the first discovery for me this year. I really like this so far. Thanks for pointing them out. And if garageland confirms a good live show, I'm in.

Ah yes!! I had been so bummed their current tour wasn't coming anywhere near me. Such a relief that I will be seeing them at 'roo instead. I don't foresee any major conflicts but I am still going to cross my fingers...

I checked a lot of their songs from their live videos from the KEXP studio and am really digging them. It's starting to sound like there will be a bunch of Thursday bands I really want to see.

Like garageland, I saw them open for Dr. Dog on Friday. Was very impressed and will definitely see them, assuming there aren't any conflicts (a tough assumption given the lineup).
Every song they played was excellent. Great vocal harmonies, lots of switching instruments around which I always enjoy, and many easy songs to sing along to even the first time you hear them.
Also, I spoke with Josiah from the band after the show, and he said they're gonna be somewhere else on Saturday (he couldn't remember where and it's not on their site), but playing Roo on Sunday.
Doesn't everybody deserve to have the good life? -Dave Matthews Diaraby Magni. -Vieux Farka Toure Nature is the infrastructure of our society. -Roo sign The Road goes on forever and the Party never ends. -Robert Earl Keen That was ridiculous! -Mayer Hawthorne Hopefully this will cool things off. -Dr. Dog, leading into "The Breeze" We're in the middle of our one day tour here. -Jack Black
I hadn't heard of them before the line-up either but the KEXP stuff from youtube put them on my list of bands to see. One of the performances, might be one of the videos earlier in the thread... I can't view youtube videos at work, made me tear up a bit! Gotta listen to the album this weekend.
Here's a live recording of The Head And The Heart in Boston (opening for Dr. Dog) -- one of the best opening sets I've ever seen, they won a lot of people over

Deer Tick & THATH are the only bands I'll be camping out for. Awesome, awesome stuff!
For me, THATH's performance was better than Dr. Dog when I saw them a few weeks ago - did anyone else feel that way? Dr. Dog was fantastic, don't get me wrong. THATH just pulled at my heart strings
Thanks for the videos and links! Awesome band. I hope to get a chance to see these guys. I can see why they are touring with Dr Dog, just kinda makes sense.
