I had never even heard of this man before reading this article... Sounds like quite the character. I love the part about how his heart attack wasn't because of his diet, but rather toxic broccoli his mom fed him as a kid. ;D

well people that have been on the board a while, know some of my stories , so i wont bore them, but i was in SF during the summer of 67 and i didnt meet owsley or ken, but i was really close if you know what i mean (i love that skit that says that "you know what i mean , it is that show "whos line is it anyway"_ it wasnt long that things really changed afterwards ... acid legal for about a year ....but that is another story ... cr****
Like when T-Bone Burnett said during his set at Bonnaroo that, "They should built statues in Nashville for Ralph Stanley", they should do the same in San Francisco for Owsley Stanley. A man in obscurity in our society that had such an impact on the 60s counterculture and revolutionized live music.
