I can't believe I went until 10 minutes before I left work before somebody posted in the Random Thoughts thread. Didn't anybody have any random thoughts while working today? Or was everyone like me, and just too busy to actually think?
My only random thoughts today, unfortunately, have been:
1) MY BACK HURTS. Like hell. I spent the better part of this morning in the fetal postition in my bed 2) When can I get out of here and enjoy my unemployment?

I was just way way too busy to even think for myself today
Some of us aren't allowed to surf the net at work Hell, some of us were recently informed that henceforth personal email at work was a no-no.....with no guidelines as to what exactly constituted a personal email and whether a "want to do lunch today?" from anyone outside the office/base even counted? ??? wtf?

Have any of you fine folks ever watched tv without the sound on (muted, not turned-down)? I used to work in a dance club and, during the slower times, I would watch tv. Obviously, I had to mute the tv and read the 'closed captioning' in order to follow whatever I was watching.
My question: If someone is deaf, what good do the little music notes (used to indicate music playing) do? If it's music notes accompanied by lyrics, that's totally understandable to me. If nothing else, if differentiates dialog by unseen characters from actual song lyrics. Right? But, the music notes by themselves? I don't get that at all.
Can someone explain this to me?

I was just sitting here listening to Abbey Road when it hit me... My record collection, albeit new, was missing an essential record. I did not have Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band!
I quickly went to Amazon.com just for shits and giggles, and found it for $9.99 in "very good condition." I love when things work out like that ;D

Why is it that when you oversleep in the mornings you feel even more tired than normal when you wake up on time? You'd think that since you get an extra hour of sleep you'd be well rested....

Sometimes characters refer to music (ex: Is this the new ___(insert band here)___?) which would be pretty random if you didn't know music was in the background (and didn't know the band)... Also, why not? They give a lot of little things (like coughing, etc) that may not mean a lot, but why leave anything out? I don't know... just my take on it.

For me the worst part is the dreaming... if I oversleep, I have the most random bizarre dreams (somewhere between the 6am potty trip and the 7:30am oh-fvck-I'm-lates). My husband has the same thing. Plus our AC unit is screwed, so we're hot as hell (which also makes for odd dreams). Yesterday morning the first thing my husband said was 'I'm going to knock over a liquor store'... he has no memory of it and it would be VERY out of character if he did that...

I would assume it would be for what mariposa said above, and to make the hearing impaired feel involved in the program as much as they can.

There's a worldwide Beard and Moustache Chapmionship and there are international teams and whatnot just like the olympics. Apparently, a contest shall be held in Alaska in March of 2009. I'm thinking roadtrip to see the ridiculousness of this event.

First - karma, that site is hilarious. Second - I'm thinking this is the perfect answer to your coworker commenting on your lack of shaving... Tell them you're in training for this.

LOL! And I was right about Soundgarden's Big Dumb Sex.... 32 'Fuck Yous'! Why RATM is looking positively tame in comparison to some of these other guys!
Hmmm, new hobby....counting obscenities in song lyrics. Guess it would be good training to work for the PMRC ;D
