is anyone from or visited any of these cities? if so any info or insight on the locations would be nice to read. I am moving this july to one of these 6, won't know until around march which but the anticipation is killing me

I've not been to any of the places, but I do know that anyone I know that has ever been to Boulder has said they would do anything to live there. And CT would have probably have a much higher cost of living than the others.

My brother lives in Boulder, but sadly i have never been able to visit
Athens, GA, rocks pretty hardcore... i was considering attending UGA at one point, which is located there. It's very musically oriented as well as musically diverse, and a definate party city. It's quite a ways from the ATL though, which is a lil sad
Where are you from now and do you want to replace your current scene, build upon it, or turtle from it ?
Athens ,OH has alot to offer if you don't require more than local college scene. Within a couple hours of Columbus or Morgantown, WV if you do seek touring bands and sports franchises or whatnot. By far, it would offer the cheapest bulk land and/or rent opportunities of the places listed. So if your job is gonna be steady(many people from more urban Ohio would love to live there, but employment is scarce) and you want acreage(we're talking less than 500 bucks an acre in bulk) Athens, OH could be for you.
Also, not to diminish the local scene-it jumps. Killer Halloween Party every year with boozin' in the streets and 30+ bands. Hocking Hills area and others nearby offer all the nature lover could want. Also very notorious for a large concentration of party peeps and their essences if that is something you would consider.
If you gotta a solid job lined up there--you could live like a king. Asheville,NC is only a couple of hours from there as well. And the area is chock full of mountain music. The Appalachain Uprising fest is only a short while from there in the spring and attracts serious national talent. All depends what you seek. Good luck...
Hey Shoosh thanks for the info on Athens Ohio, I've looked at photos and it looks like ohio is a nice place, I currently live in georgia, I recently applied for graduate school in each of these cities so for the past month I have been reading/researching each place extensivly. the anticipation of finding out where i get in and where I will be moving is worse that ROO-I-TUs , which I currently have. I mean, I check this message board every day and bonnaroo is 5 months away. anyway, I have actually lived in athens GA before and it is a pretty cool scene, so yeah any info on any of these areas would be great, there is only so much you can read about without getting the DL from my peoples..

Athens is good if you like outdoor stuff, but if your a city person, its probably not for you. Even though columbus is only 1 1/2 hours away, it feels like your in the middle of nowhere. That being said, its a really nice town, and definatly good if your into the party scene. Check out palmer fest, and you can get a sense of it.
where do you live in ohio ziggy? How you described it is exactly what I was thinking from all that i've read about it, how far is athens OH from the appalachians? is it really hilly there?

I live near columbus, but i know people who who live in hocking and athens, and have spent considerable amounts of time there. I'm not too sure how far from the appalachians, i cant imagine its too far. Its pretty hilly there, and theres a lot of trails and such to hike. I believe the elevation is about the same as columbus's, but its a lot hillier.
