and i just want to add, most ppl will say bonnaroo is better still because its a camping fest and people who generally roo, want the vibe of a camping fest.

Who told you they were allowed to have a festival without Jack Johnson?
Bonnaroo's headliners vs. Lolla's headliners.... Lolla, for show, not even a second to think it over. Hands down. Blows Bonnaroo's headliners out of the water.
Bonnaroo's lineup will still probably be all around better, because it will be more diverse.

As Becca said, the day fest aspect of Lolla makes these two events completely different experiences.
At Lolla the clock strikes midnight and you have to end the party for the day and shuffle off to your $200+ a night hotel room.
At Bonnaroo the clock strikes midnight and you wake up from your nap during Metallica to go see MMJ followed by a till dawn DJ set and then crash in your onsite camp.
Lolla sets range from 30 minutes to an hour for non headliners to 1:30 for the headliners.
Bonnaroo's are double that.
Sorry but Lolla's just not my bag baby. Or APW, Virgin, or any other urban multi day fest.

The Lolla headliners were confirmed this evening....
Radiohead Nine Inch Nails Rage Against The Maching Kanye Wilco The Raconteurs
Lollapalooza>Bonnaroo...at least for the headliners
Well...'roo had Radiohead in 2006...and it was amazing. Enjoy the show palooza.
But to measure the headliners head to head
Pearl Jam = Radiohead RATM > Metallica Kanye(Lolla) < Kanye(Roo) Raconteurs (Lolla) < Raconteurs(Roo) NIN < Jack Johnson, Phil Lesh, Robert Plant, Levon helm, My Morning Jacket, Sigur Ros, BB King, Willie Nelson and the Allman Bros.
Roo sets = Longer plus Latenights Superjam = amazing Camping Fest = Entirely different beast compared to Palooza
Maybe I'll throw myself to the dogs, but my back's not to the wall Maybe I'll lay some bricks for the man, but the days just aren't that long So if I settle back and chill will I see far enough to feel the angel's dream? I thought it was the Story of the World!

Smashed?!? Not in the slightest.
Would I rather see Rage, NIN, and Radiohead than JJ, Pearl Jam, and Metallica? Yes.
But take this in context.
Bonnaroo had Radiohead two years ago. I'm sorry if you missed it, but it was arguably one of the greatest Radiohead shows ever. One of the longest sets they have ever played, and we got a few tracks from "In Rainbows" well before the album came out. I'm sure Lolla is in for a good show, but it won't be nearly as epic as their Bonnaroo performance.
Nine Inch Nails are comparable to Metallica in my book. Two bands well past their prime, still trying to reach an audience. However, NIN are playing other US shows, including other festivals. As far as I know, Bonnaroo is Metallica's only US gig as of right now.
Pearl Jam and Rage are both said to put on amazing live shows. I'd say it's just a matter of preference here. I'd take Rage over Pearl Jam, but not by much.
As for the other artists listed . . . who cares? We have The Raconteurs as well. We have Kanye too. We've had Wilco several times, last year included.
Lolla has always had a better middle bill?!? I'm going to assume you are intoxicated there my friend. The middle of Lolla's bill is usually comprised mostly of the Indie flavors of the month.
And as other people have mentioned. Lolla doesn't hold a candle to Bonnaroo. Lolla's sets are shorter (for both daytime acts and Headliners), there is no late night, there is no Superjam, there is no camping out with 80,000 other crazy people.

Sadly, the 5-O say. That's who.
I'll be there since it's in my back yard. Still doesn't compare to four days of late nights and camping in the hot ole TN sun!
