I personally like Jack White's songs better but SRV was a great guitar player. I don't think it's very easy to play the blues, either. Since everyone can pretty much do it, it takes real soul and skill to do it above and beyond anyone else. If that makes any sense lol.

The blues is the easiest music to play. Playing it well.... well that's another story
If you check this out Levon Helms is playing with Phil on the 13, I am almost willing to bet this is the supper sic. jam
Great find! The idea of either one guesting at the other's set is orgasmic.
When further conformation that Phil is Saturday night, I'm intrigued as to WHEN the Superjam will be. Would they really put Superjam up against Phil latenight? Or MMJ? Or do they move it back to the daytime?
If I remember correctly Superjam and MMJ were the same night a few years ago; but that was before MMJ was as big as they are now, and before they were on Which stage.

I concur with this.. You learn 12 bar blues and you can jam to pretty much anything.

Well, they put the Superjam (with JPJ) against String Cheese and STS9 last year, in the smallest tent, so yeah, they'll put Superjam up against MMJ. I think that definitely sounds like the superjam, too, Levon and Phil plus others...
And in '06, I believe Superjam was actually Saturday, whereas I believe MMJ was on Friday. I remember the guy jumping around on top of the porta-potties afterward.

That site also puts Phil's acoustic performance at Sunday, 3pm.

Wait, wait, hold on....
That link shows that Levon and Phil will be playing together on the 13th in Chicago. So...if they're in Chicago, neither one of them could be in the Superjam if it's on Friday.
The link does, however, confirm that Phil is playing his Which stage set on Saturday.
So back to square one, I guess. Who should be in this year's supper jam?
True but I would bet money that if he is touring with phil, as seems to be the case that he will be there at bonnaroo as well. Also is the superjam always friday I seem to remember it being saturday in '06. Also since Phil has two shows I could see one of his being the superjam pretty easy.

Bingo. 12 Bar blues ( as stated above) is easy.
Anyway. Any thoughts about the "unannounced" guest for the Jam?
I'm still banking on Clapton. It just seems to make a lot of sense. Plus with it working logistically, why not?
Clapton, now there's a man that can play the blues. I get chills thinking about the possibility of seeing Clapton and B.B. King share a stage. That would send me to heaven for however long it lasted.

Riding with the King is one of my favorite albums.

While Clapton would be more amazing than words can describe.......I'll still be happy if Jack White is involved in some way. Jack White, Levon Helm, Warren Haynes, and Phil Lesh would be pretty f'n sweet. Robert Randolph, BB King........there's almost too much to choose from.
Im thinking brain damaged eggmen is gonna be the superjam. I would also love to see the bowie tribute band from Jamcruise to be the superjam. Oh! you pretty things it was called. it had a bunch of musicians that will be at roo this year and they did an amazing job playing a bunch of bowie tunes

How about Bela fleck, Phil lesh, Robert Plant, Younder mountian members, and some Umphery's members in one crazy bluegrass/dead set that will last till the sun comes up.
