Anybody like Money Mark Nishita? If you don't know who he is, here's a little sampling.....
He played keys on the Beastie Boys albums of the 90's: Check Your Head, Ill Communication, and Hello Nasty.
He's the man behind the awesome keyboard riff on Where It's At by Beck.
He is a member of the Omar Rodriguez-Lopez Quintet (he of the Mars Volta), and played on most of Omar's solo stuff.
He has a solo career of his own. While I don't know much of his solo stuff, I got his album Push the Button in '98, and the man is an awesome songwriter in his own right.
My only regret is that they couldn't get the Mars Volta this year, because the prospects of an Omar solo show would have been through the roof with this add. Especially since the rest of his solo band basically consists of the rest of The Mars Volta.
Regardless.......this round of additions pleased me.
also, he is signed by Brushfire Records (owned by jack johnson), which is also the label of G. Love, ALO, Matt Costa and also some other artists playing Bonnaroo this year e.g. Donovan Frankenreiter, Rogue Wave, Mason Jennings and of course Jack Johnson...basically he's great and will probably make an appearance many many times at 'roo and you should definitely not miss his set

Bonnaroo!
^ very interesting...will definetly keep my ears open for this dude.
I'm sure he is great live and prob has an awesome band play with him. but I have listened to a couple of his solo albums and non of them really have anything on them that sticks out or makes me want to listen again. He has done some really great things in his career but imo his solo stuff seems very uninspired and tired. my 2cents
Looks like he'll be the 12th or 13th based on his tour schedule with the B-boys. They're in Portugal the 10th and at other festivals starting the 14th and beyond.
Edit: After listening to the four songs on his MySpace page I probably won't make an effort to see him.

I'm inclined to agree. But his presence at Bonnaroo is still a plus for me because I know he'll be guesting in a lot of other sets. I wouldn't be surprised if he wound up playing in the superjam.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it
I am so pumped about Money Mark!!! This will complete my 3 year long mission to see the entire Brushfire Records line-up!! I am so pumped and i LOVE MARK!!!!!
