I'm usually a fan of their longer songs (Transatlanticism, What Sarah Said), but the intro to this really drags. Still, once the lyrics started, it hooked me in.
"Love need not be a command nor faith a dictum. I am my own god. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us." — Charles Bukowski

I really liked it, even with the long intro. You'd expect with an intro like that, that it would be the first track on the album, but it's not-- so now I'm even more interested to see what the cd is like.

i read an interview on the new album and from what i can tell they promise new and different things. as a long-time death cab fan, i "liked" but did not love plans. but this seems to be going in a totally different direction from anything they've ever done.
awesome song, that jam type intro was good stuff, hopefully the rest of the album is the same. i cannot wait to take a seat in the tennessee grass and watch and listen to these guys.
