I heard rumor that either of these guys might sneak in for some surprise attack or something. Personally i don't think it's likely, and they might be to big. Any thoughts?

I don't think either of those 2 bands are anywhere close to being "too big" for Bonnaroo.

QFT, Weezer is one of my all time favorite but are in no way too big
I would love to see weezer play. As it sits now they have an album due spring 08 and no touring announced yet. Spring 08 comes before bonnaroo....so maybe??
While not too big to play Bonnnaroo (or even close) they may be too big to be added at this point. And while I agree that Weezer is at this point completely irrelevant, I'd have to differ on Green Day. American Idiot was a pretty darn good record, and they put on a good live show. Granted, even that's been a few years ago now. And nobody this big will be added at this point anyway.
Hey, Jude, don't be afraid. You were made to go out and get her. The minute you let her under your skin, Then you begin to make it better.
And any time you feel the pain, Hey Jude, refrain. Don't carry the world upon your shoulders. Well don't you know that it's a fool who plays it cool By making his world a little colder.

I feel like TMV would have been a bigger add than either. Agreed, we already have O.A.R., we don't need Weezer or Green Day at bonnaroo, especially not Green Day, its bonnaroo, not prom.
IMO, American Idiot was a pile of garbage. It was nothing more than generic quack Bush yadda yadda without any substance to back it up. I saw them on the American Idiot tour and it was one of the worst shows I've payed to see. Every song contained about 10 "everyone scream so loud they can hear you in the white house!" or "everybody throw up a middle finger for Bush!". It was like an Ozzy Osbourne show. As for that Woodstock '94 set, yes that was good, but it was also 14 years ago. I don't want to see 40 year old men playing pop-punk aimed at 15 year olds. They should have given up after Insomniac
As far as Weezer goes, the Blue Album and Pinkerton will forever be on a regular rotation in my cd player.

Are you from the future?
I don't want to see 40 year old men playing pop-punk aimed at 15 year olds.
With a dozen other stages on the farm, this should be pretty easy.
sorry, I wrote that early morning after a late night . I may have to edit that post so I don't look like a complete moron.
And I guess I could reword the second part of my post. I don't want to see 40 year olds playing pop-punk aimed at 15 year olds take up a slot on the bill that could be filled by someone who plays music that really means something.
This word also has a underground meaning once you break it down. Let’s take “Bonn” for example and it actually turns into the word “Bone”. We all know gays use this word to describe the action of when they are fecal fisting their Cuban cabana boy at their sex bath house parties. Now let’s look at Roo, “Roo” is short for “Kangaroo”.So put the full true message together and you get“Bone a Kangaroo
I like em both...I actually saw them together (with Hole) back in 94
but
Weezer kinda sucks live. and Green Day...they used to be so good live...the last tour was just awful...just very phony and patronizing...
Besides all that...at this point, I could see a Weezer add, but Green Day would need to be a headliner, and those spots are full...not gonna happen....
THOUGH....I could see a Foxboro Hot Tubs addition in a tent (Shhhhh....that's Green Day's secret identity.)
Sorry this was all incoherent and rambling...out of practice I guess.
and now the kid rock thread..... who says the bonnaroo crowd isn't changing? these are text book examples about why (some) people who have attended this festival for more than the last 3 years are so sad about the new, more obvious mainstream-ness. i don't want to offend people, but i want these bands at bonnaroo less.
