i'm not missing him. he's one of the first people that i decided to check out after the line-up came out, and i love him. i downloaded his cd the other day so that i can learn the songs and sing along at the show.
i really love In Our Nature. The first 3 songs: How Low > Down The Line > Killing For Love are such a great way to kick off an album.
Veneer is great, too. I really love "All You Deliver" from that one.
I normally wouldn't ever get excited about an acoustic songwriter's performace at the roo, but i think the Jose Gonzalez set on Friday afternoon will be just beautiful!
Can you listen to "Cycling Trivialities" and not picture a gorgeous sunny day with the beach balls floating above the crowd, and the pretty girls blowing bubbles and guys throwing frisbee outside the tent? It's gonna be so peaceful and so...Bonnaroo.
When I saw him at Coachella I didn't get bored once. I really thought I would because he is acoustic but he put on a really good show. I also find that happens when I listen to his CDs too. They are finished before I realize they even began.
Saw him last night. He played mostly stuff from his newest album. It was really good. He played a few songs by himself to start out with then brought out a bongo/keyboard player and a female singer. Played for about 1 hour and 15 mins. I love the World Cafe. Here's some pics and vids.........
