Maybe someone posted about this already....but Metallica has a site now like a lot of jambands do, where you can download full shows for about $10-$15 bucks...
The cool part is there's a section of FULL shows that you can get for FREE...there's 20 different shows from the early 80's though 2003....

this is great, nice find. I'm getting the most recent one right now
I am listening to that now, the Moscow show, and how people say Metallica is no longer good live is beyond me, James is also sounding as good as ever on this show. For people thinking Metallica has gone downhill live, check out this show. Pretty cool little bass intro on 'For Whom The Bell Tolls', reminds me of Les. Ooo, a 4 minute bass solo. I'm really glad Roberts playing with them instead of Jason.
thanks for the info, i judt downloaded the last show i was at in Philly, witch is a good thing cause i really dont remember it that well ! I usually drink to much at every Metallica show i go to ! Nice to see a few other Metallica fans here ! Were few and far between !!!
I will admit, even though I hate what Metallica has become (I still enjoy their older stuff, like many people), they still put on a good show. They know what people want to hear and stick to that stuff. James Hetfield's stage banter is a little annoying, but he generally doesn't waste too much time with it. I saw them on the St. Anger tour and was actually quite surprised. We got a really good setlist
Blackened Fuel Harvester Of Sorrow Kirk Doodle #1 Welcome Home (Sanitarium) Frantic I Disappear St. Anger Sad But True Creeping Death Fade to Black Battery ------------- No Leaf Clover Melbourne Nothing Else Matters Master Of Puppets One Enter Sandman ------------- So What! Dyers Eve
it was maybe the 5th or 6th time they had ever played Dyer's Eve, even though the song was like 20 years old, so that was pretty cool

I guess you cant do much about the St. Anger songs. They will play 1 or 2 for sure. But I think if we were to get a set similar to this at Bonnaroo, most people would go away pretty impressed.
that was the St Anger tour, so they were more or less obligated to at least play the singles. It was inevitable. Hopefully now that they aren't touring in support of that load of crap, they'll skip out on it all together.
Isn't Metallica set to release a new album later this year or early next? I think we'll hear 1 or 2 new tunes.
I would think that St. Anger will be lucky to get one track played if any at all.
Not to mention METALLICA probably realizes the different audience they are playing to.
I pray and hope we get many songs like the setlist above from "Master Of Puppets", "The Black Album", & please let there be some "Ride the Lightning" with a few choice cuts of "Kill 'Em All".
I just fear that they will feel that they need to reach the non-Metallica familar audience and throw in Load & Re-Load crap. I can deal with "Fuel" but I don't need Bob Seger covered or some of the other garbage on those CDs.
In any case, how can they do wors than the bland Police from last year. I predict a 2 1/2 hour set.
