I'll be honest I am not looking forward to Kanye at all. I'm not going to get on here and say, Kanye shouldn't be at roo and his music doesn't fit. I disagree with this view entirely. I do like some rap and am looking forward to Talib Kweli. I enjoy the fact that a wide range of music has been booked for bonnaroo this year, I may check out Metallica and if not I am positive I can find something else. What I don't like about Kanye is that bonnaroo is such a free loving community it is all about good vibes and the type of person Kanye has proven to be is why I don't believe he should be at Bonnaroo. He is constantly complaining, he is arrogant and this I believe to not be healthy for the festival, not his music. In 2009 Bonnaroo can book, whatever marginally talented pop stars they want just as long as they are not divas like Kanye who may prove to be detremental to the great vibe at Bonnaroo, that I fear Kanye may turn out to be.

i agree like 90% with you. I could do without Drunk and Hot Girls, just something about that song, and also Barry Bonds, but everything else is choice!

"I woke up early this morning with a new state of mind, A creative way to rhyme without using knives and guns. Keep your nose out the sky, keep your heart to God And keep your face to the rising sun."
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!

This was an excellent answer.
I'm not so sure I'm going to catch Kanye's set. I'm only like half a fan. I was listening to Kanye well before all the kids were singing Gold Digger. I have his first two albums, but really don't care for the most recent one. But if I do wander by his set, I hope he's got everyone sweating to the New Workout Plan.

This seems like a really, really ill suited response. You've just gone off on some personal diatribe. let people at least list some songs they want to hear.
My view... nobody in rap or hip hop compares to Kanye West. I love others almost as much, but his unique streak and brilliantly catchy songs are beyond anything anyone else does, and why he IS the genre now.
Homecoming, and I hope Chris Martin pops in the play the piano like he did for the track. That's basically all I want to see him perform, the rest is meh
Now you just told me that friendship is all I'm forced to repair the breech in my wall Illusions and dreams, as usual, it seems Sabra girl, they've been my downfall
He only has 3 proper albums and a live one. I enjoy all of them and can't really pick a favorite. College Dropout is definitely the one I have listened to the most. If you want to see what he sounds like live check out the Late Orchestration CD. It has an Orchestra, as well as A-Trak, backing him. It has guess spots from Lupe, John Legend, and a few others.
Hey, Jude, don't be afraid. You were made to go out and get her. The minute you let her under your skin, Then you begin to make it better.
And any time you feel the pain, Hey Jude, refrain. Don't carry the world upon your shoulders. Well don't you know that it's a fool who plays it cool By making his world a little colder.

I'll be catching Kanye since I had the misfortune of missing his show at WVU in 2003 or so when I tried to break up a fight but instead my face ended up on the wrong side of speeding, unopened can of Budweiser and I spent the rest of the night nursing the better half of a keg with a black eye.
That said, I hope he plays a good, high-energy set and I'll leave it at that.
