blow the roof off of bonnaroo as a headliner. seriously, if every show i've seen them play has a ton of energy and has been at least 2 hours and 15 minutes, this set is going to be epic with less stringent curfews and the fact that they can mix up a setlist with the best of em. I can see a three hour set easily from them.

There is no roof at Bonnaroo. I love your enthusiasm though and I am looking forward to Pearl Jam. What kind of surprises do you think they might have for us?
It will make my life to see Pearl Jam in a general admission crowd. I have a bad Ten Club number and it will be nice to get as close as I want! This is definitely what I'm looking forward to most in the weekend.

I just finished downloading the rest of the Pearl Jam albums and I am excited to start listening to a lot of their work. I never really delved into their music so I am happy I get a chance to listen to all of their work.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
download BETTER MAN. it's the best song ever. as is WHY GO and OFF HE GOES and DAUGHTER. i was born in 1982, so nirvana and pearl jam where like, my first definition of cool (as much as they'd hate that). i've been listening to NEVERMIND and TEN since i was, well, ten.

Haha, it was more of a metaphorical roof anyways-- i didn't actually mean any roofs were coming off that didn't exist anyways
I fully expect some gems to be unleashed that haven't been played in a while, and some songs that they break out only on special occasions, like their cover of 'I've Got a Feeling.'
And for those unfamiliar with their music, obviously 'Ten' is the stuff that everyone knows, but their best music is really the stuff that never gets played. Check out their album 'No Code,' that really divided the fans of just their 'grunge' stuff from the true fans. Never have I seen a band follow up, in one album, a song as beautiful and soft as 'Off He Goes' with a sludgy, rockin tune like 'Habit' after it. Pearl Jam has the most range out of any band that I've seen live.
I predict they will start off their set with this:
'Release' is the perfect mood-setter for a night, especially a Bonnaroo night, and every show that they start this with usually means one special night.

Pearl Jam seriously has the potential to be the best headliner we've had since Radiohead...
And though I never considered myself a great big fan of theirs, I cannot deny that they are a very nostalgic band for me... gonna be great, I tell ya.
I totally agree. I have always listened to their music but dont' consider myself a huge fan. However, I am really really excited about them being there and I know it will be an amazing show - probably with at least one guest

I definitely agree. As classic and amazing as "Ten" & "Vs" are, their best stuff comes from their later albums - particularly No Code & Yield. Anyone looking for something relaxing and truly moving, check out their acoustic performance 'Live At Benaroya Hall'. Fucking unbelievable - one of the best live albums I have ever heard. Solid from start to finish - so warming, soothing, rocking, amazing.
Also, I was there during the Release you linked to. I was, in all honesty, in tears during that. It's in my Top 3 favorite songs by them, and was praying they'd open with it (my first time seeing them). When the stage is all blue, and their figures are just black objects against the blue...and you hear the opening chords to it, and Eddie comes in going 'Oh....."....damn it's amazing!!!

Just the first few seconds of that give me goosebumps. Pearl Jam's gonna rock it so hard...
