I could be wrong, but I believe usually every 2-3 weeks. I think last year was different because most artists (including additions) were leaked a day before the lineup was announced.

Last year there was a small one (Roots, Wild Magnolia...) before the onsale date, and the next was about a month later. More or less what we can expect this year-- so I wonder who will be announced on Wednesday!
I hope we get something of headliner quality, even if they aren't playing in the headliners time slot, like The White Stripes or Flaming Lips last year. These headliners just aren't cutting it for me this year.
This man came up to me just the other day, asked me I'd been born again. I told him, "I didn't think I had." That I had been rejected. But I think, Hell's got all the good bands anyway. And Bonnaroo.
There's been enough backlash from Bonnaroo's base about the initial lineup, that I could definitely see them doing a repeat of 2006, and adding a major act before tix go onsale that appeals to more traditional Roo tastes.
The ones that come to mind: The Black Crowes, Les Claypool or moe. would all appear to be among the likeliest candidates. The Black Crowes, in particular, seem ripe for the taking as they haven't been attached to any major festivals yet and have quite a bit of buzz right now.

Does anyone think that some of the artists listed on consequence of sound will be added? Because if any of those are there then I will be happy, especially ALO and moe.
clato, karma for the Franti love and I second your request even if it's just a sonic stage act. I have become a huge Spearhead fan.

steve, do you think we'll only get one or two more big name bands, then the rest will be the jazz/cafe acts?
I think we'll get at least one. The last three years we had a small, two or three name announcement right before the onsale, and at least one name was quite big. '05 was The Word, '06 was Oysterhead, '07 was The Roots. All pre-headliners, too. Now Capps did say in one of those articles that we shouldn't expect any more really big names, so perhaps we already have our pre-headliners (and one look at our current lineup would suggest that), but still I think we'll get at least one fairly big name this week.

Nice find, mulcherries, and karma. So, the '06 initial lineup was 62 acts, and the '08 is 69. With the inclusion of the jazz tent, that'll probably cut back a bit on the number of main and cafe additions. They said the final will be over 100. Let's assume we'll get 35 more additions. I think it'll be maybe 12 main acts, 13 jazz acts and the remaining 20 cafe acts.

i posted this in another thread already. in all there were 140+ acts last year. 94 on the stages and tents (including 13 in jazz tent), 32 cafe, 11 comedians and 4 side shows acts (bonna rouge). so let's say they add 13 jazz acts like last year. we still have 12 slots open on the stages/tents. plus cafe and comedy.
^^^Sounds like we're on the same page, just in different threads.
oh, i thought you were saying there wouldn't be more than a few stage adds. there are going to be 10-12. i guess you meant no big ones, which could be correct. we will have to wait to see.

^^^Yes, I think there will be about a dozen main act additions, but only one or two will be "big" names. And my original thought was that one will probably be part of a small round of additions happening this week, possibly Wednesday.

yeah it would be nice for one round of additions before tickets go on sale. I am going anyway but its always nice to have a few more reasons to really wanna go!

I looked around for 2007's artist additions to see how they compare to that of 2006. All I could find was the first two rounds, I don't know if anyone else remembers who else was added, or maybe someone else will have better luck in finding other additions from last year. It appears to me that in 2006 the artist additions were much better.
Last year's artist additions:
Round One:
The Roots Wild Magnolia Mardi Gras Indians
Round Two:
Ornette Coleman El-P David Bromberg and Angel Band Flight of the Conchords New Orleans Klezmer Allstars Yard Dogs Road Show

^^^Those were the only two main-act additions, but then there was the jazz tent with all its acts, then cafe acts, and somewhere in there also was Bonna Rouge.
