I'm with ya bwell. Girl Talk does mashups, and Deacon does homemade electronic riggs. Definitely different, and I like both but I'd love to see a hometown hero get down on the farm.

I love Dan Deacon. I was in a band that opened for him in January last year in Huntsville, AL. He and the Wham City collective ended up staying at my buddy's house. They played ping-pong, ate cereal, and discussed the TVA til the wee hours of the morning. Great guys, every one of 'em.

I have seen Girl Talk 3 times, and Dan Deacon once, entirely different shows, but both completely enjoyable and fun.

dan deacon puts on a great live show.
you know how everyone will get up their around him and get real close for his shows, he THREW UP and looked sick with extreme heat exhaustion during one of his performances, but kept playing!! the smell was deadly.

This is weird, I was just about to go on here and say the same thing. But, I guess I'll just add my support.

I just went to his Ultimate Reality tour and it was the fuckin best show I've ever seen.

But yeah... I will be disappointed if he isn't there.

Dan Deacon is the man. I've seen him twice and have been right next to him both performances. One right behind him and one in front. He is one of my favorite discoveries of last year. That guy knows how to control the crowd and gets the party started. I for sure thought he would be on the lineup..
