04 was the nuts. that was the best UM show on the farm.
I was lucky enough to see UM in Jamaica three times in a row, back in december. They brought it every night, but the final night was a really, really great show by them. Probably the best I've seen since that 04 throwdown at Roo. I hope they get a late night and rock the quacking house down like 04 (I personally didn't think 06 was nearly as good as 04, but that's just me).

Saw the 05' show, and while it was good, it was the worst umphrey's show i've seen. It was too short, and they also played a lot of singing songs, and not enough instrumentals.
last year was my first roo and when the lineup came out i was so disheartened without UM. didnt catch them at all this year so i look forward to their bonnaroo 2008 latenight set... im gonna go with.. FRIDAY

I saw them during the day at Echo Project, and even though it was awesome, it just didn't compare to roo '06 (only other time i've seen them). I hope they get a late night set, but if they don't, I won't be too mad because i'll see them at Langerado!
if you guys like umph, im pretty sure most of you will like p.groove aswell. I like them both, and metallica. connection, probably. the same "live" experience..i think not!
sorry , started to post this about an hour ago, just broke up w/ the gf that ive been dating for 6 months...kinda lame. forgot what i was saying.
hell yes for the pgroove love. i've never seen umphreys but ive always wanted to. (i went to mmj in 06). ive seen pgroove 4 times though and they are amazing each and every time. theyve got an awesome time slot at langerado this year also.

I'm grabbing their new years show right now, pretty sweet setlist, love to see the lyrical stew thrown in. All their shows are disgusting, the best i've seen is their 4/20 show in 07'. I Want You, Kashmir, and a sick 40's Theme.
Get the 30th too... it's great. The Echo set is good too you need Live @ The Murat too.
Oh geez... just pay attention to the sharing music thread for the next couple days
Is the improv songs on Live @ The Murat just Jimmy Stewart?
Deciding whats a Jimmy Stewart has gotten pretty complicated. The jams labeled "improv" on the disc aren't really considered jimmy stewarts. On the bands website the setlists just lists "In the Kitchen" without any stewarts because that song always has an implied jam in it. A bunch of their songs have implied jams so the jams don't get listed on the setlists. I think they labled "improv" on the Murat disc so that newer fans wouldn't be confused.
their new years shows are legendary. the girlfriend and i have gone for the past 2 years and wouldnt miss it for the world. this past new years we were standing right next to the soundboard when low and behold brendan bayliss and crew walk in front of us to make some noise at the board, it was awesome.

Agreed! I hope we get some Pgroove at the Roo but it is not looking likely. A friend just saw them recently and asked the drummer and he said that he had not heard anything about playing at Roo!
Umph comes through Cincy all the time and I have seen them a ton including New years 2006 in Chicago which was incredible. I agree with what has been said about seeing them sober though or listening to them in the car. I absolutely love when they cover the 80's songs though and rock them out!

someone earlier mentioned their 4/20 show from '07.....it was fantastic. It was my first live Umph experience and they were fucking fantastic. I highly recommend checking it out to get yourselves in the mood for them. Missed their set from roo in '06 due to too much partying during the day but they are tops on my list of sets I'm looking forward to this year.
