love 'em. I'm fortunate enought to live in Champaign, and they come down here once a semester. And do two sets when they do come down! It's quite wonderful

I can't friggin wait. They need another late night bc last time they had to give way to the Disco Biscuits! No more of that. we want 3 plus hours of umphs!

I will most likely be there, there'd have to be someone sweet against them for me not to. And liking Mastodon and Umphrey's isn't surprising at all, i definitely hear a lot metal influences in their music.
It's hard to get excited about seeing umph's, because they tour so much, but Bonnaroo shows are special. And I'll probably just have the Chambana show to hold me over, so i'll be extra pumped.
they played a good little fest here in colorado last summer ... it was ump and disco biscuits (and a few others) ... one night ump was the 2nd to the last band and played a full set, then db came on and played a whole set ... the next night they switched spots and did the same thing ... it was cool, and in the mtns to boot ..cr****

if you guys like umph, im pretty sure most of you will like p.groove aswell. I like them both, and metallica. connection, probably. the same "live" experience..i think not!

im glad this thread was made. this is one of my top shows of this year. there is only 3-4 other shows that i am looking forward to as much as this one, and so far there are very few things on the lineup i wouldnt atleast consider checking out.
this is what bonnaroo.com has to say about them: Throughout the show, UM’s invention brings the progressive instrumental chops of Zappa and the stylistic savvy of Steely Dan.It is innovative without being indulgent, exhilarating without losing control, and there are plenty of improv passages that keep the band and their fans off-balance
Late night would be perfect, definitely excited to see them. Their late night show in '04 when moe. came out was the first time i saw UM and was blown away. Actually, i think that was the best late night of any roo i've had the pleasure of attending. They played during the day in '05 and it wasn't the same; still enjoyable, but not nearly as much fun. So yeah, i'm stoked to see them this year.
