I picked Tool but honestly, I'm fine with Metallica there. Been listening to S&M all day after honestly not giving them a proper chance before and I think it'll be a good show. BTW, was that "metal fan" used as an insult? ouch, that hurts.

I can count on one hand the number of metal bands that I really like. But you can't judge how cool a person is by musical taste. Nor do I think people who like a lot of heavy bands are wrong. That's actually terribly close-minded. Even people that LOVE the Spice Girls might be cool or nice people. Why try to pick a fight?

People don't like Metallica. And they're going to make threads about it. Get over it. I'm with the Metallica-haters and proud of it. I'm open to LOTS of diverse music, but Metallica is one of the single most overrated bands of all time.
That said, I think the Rolling Stones would be killer at Bonnaroo. And everyone knows all the lyrics to a lot of their songs (unlike, say Metallica)

Metallicas not my cup of tea either im just annoyed by the 15+ threads that pretty much say the same thing
The only 2 of those I would even care to see are The Mars Volta and Tool. Tool, I've seen 4 times already, and The Mars Volta I would LOVE to see, but they tour a lot more than Metallica does, and I've been dying to see Metallica for years. Both of them are up there on my "Bands I really need to see" list, but I'd just rather see Metallica.
I think what mostly pushes it over the top for me is seeing all the pissed off hippies around here, honestly. Everyone making a big deal over one band.
