also...just my opinion, but...its better to burn out than to fade away...just look at some legendary or iconic musicians from our time (not to say they are the best, or whatever, just going on general reputation) with people like kurt cobain, jimi, jim morrison, etc, (there are plenty) dying young, it basically cemented their place in music history...who knows what could have happened...you could have a jim morrison that looks like (fat) elvis still touring today, whipping out his wrinkly old weiner on stage...
Thats why im not sure why everyone is dying to see Zeppelin. I have zero interest in seeing a bunch of old guys trying to relive the past.

Whoa, the two situations are very different. For Zeppelin, you have a band who has not performed in the U.S in around 30 years. Think of how many of their fans have never even been alive to have the opportunity to witness a live Led Zeppelin show. Led Zeppelin is one of those bands like Pink Floyd where most teenagers/young adults go through a phase where they discover these artists. Based on the videos I have seen from the reunion concert, Zeppelin can still bring the rock and would not disappoint if they were to show up. I think one of the reasons Led Zeppelin may be a little hesitant about touring is because of the high expectations they have for themselves and that fans would have for them. To be able to produce that for a year-long tour may be a little tough on them physically.
It's the name calling that gets soooooo annoying to me.
"Metalli-puke"? "Meat heads"?!?
This from the open and welcoming community that is Bonnaroo.
This is the kind of behavior that makes people here NO BETTER then the people we condemn for things like "throw rocks at the hippies" and nuts like that. If you don't like them, that's awesome. That's your right. But its so UNCOOL to bash those that find something in their music that speaks to them. I think we all listen to music, in all it's wonderful forms, because it speaks to us in some way.

Its not like if you decide you like metallica, you automatically turn into some crazy metal head that wants to destroy everything in site. I'm sure many normal people like metallica as well

i dont like metallica and freaking love mastodon. they are crazy different. but they both have a metal nerd kind of feel, like a brian posehn kind of feel. i think this is going to attract the right kind of metal dudes, i dont see cattle decapitation anywhere on the set list.....
