So i thik Phil Lesh is going to close out the festival in a similar way as trey did in 04, i think he will do the very special acoustic set, followed by the closing normal set., thats the only thing that makes sense to me with them placing phil lesh performing twice, with the same band, just one set is acoustic.,,,any thoughts on this?

I doubt Phil will be headlining. His name is too far down the lineup. I predict a Phil & Friends late-night, with the Phil/Jackie Green/Larry Campbell thing being sunday afternoon.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

I saw Phil & Friends a couple of weeks ago in SF. This lineup of Friends is TIGHT! People who like Phil and haven't seen these Friends will be in for a treat. Even if you saw them at the start of the last tour (around 9/07), you'll see a big difference. And they play longass shows. The last one I was at went past 2 a.m.
he deserves to close out the festival.... and i got a feeling two of phil's friends this year will be bobby and mickey, i heard they got back together for a couple of shows somewhere in support of the Barak Obama campaign.

I think Phil will close out the fest like he has done before I think acoustic will be on Saturday a jam band always closes the fest and he is the only one big enough to be the closing jam band and superfly said not to expect any big name announcements
This has been mentioned, but Jack Johnson's website says he's "headlining" Sunday night. Unless he's using the term loosely, I don't think Phil will be closing it down.
I agree that Phil is doing an acoustic set sometime during the weekend. "Phil Lesh / Larry Campbell / Jackie Green" clearly means an acoustic set.
If they're not the closer I won't be that disappointed, but they'd better get at least 3 full hours to play their electric sets. I demand no less!
As far as the Obama thing, that was a one time deal this past Monday night. The "Deadheads For Obama" show was to get people psyched about Super Tuesday. They were interviewed that night, and it was stated that this was just a one time deal. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Bobby and Mickey will not be playing with Phil at this year's Bonnaroo. I'd like to see them play together just as much as you guys, but I know for a fact it isn't happening. Though, if by some miracle it does happen I will take whatever form of verbal abuse you care to give me for being wrong. It won't matter to me then, I'll be too excited to see the core survivors of the Grateful Dead!

The never said uncategorically that they wouldn't play more shows together. They said in the pre-show press conference that they simply haven't had time to look beyond the show that night, but they never ruled out future Dead shows. Fingers crossed...
