This is why I am about 90 percent sure Led Zeppelin will be there.
1. Ticket prices went up for "no reason"
2. Almost every news outlet online says they will be headlining.
3. The main rumor was that Metallica and Zeppelin were headlining. Metallica is there!
4. John Paul Jones has been there before. He enjoyed it. Robert Plant will be there this year.
5. Led Zeppelin goes PERFECT with the other 2 headliners: Pearl Jam and Metallica. I mean come on, you can't rock out to 2 heavy bands then close with acoustic Jack Johnson (don't get me wrong hes good for bonnaroo, but not to headline)
6. Neil Young was an artist addition in 2003 and headlined that year. So it's not out of the question that they will do the same thing.
7. If they had put Zeppelin in the initial lineup, tickets would have sold out immediately, and I think Superfly/AC wants these ticket to last a while.
I really feel the same way. Why would they admit to having Led Zeppelin? It would completely fuck over tons of Bonnaroo fans. I don't really know when they would announce it though. Maybe towards the end....sell out the rest of the tickets!
i agree.....i also think the presale DVD is a little telling.....something big is afoot and we don't have all of the headliners yet. i could see Allman Brothers headlining on Sunday, but they're listed way down on the list. i think we'll get a zep announcement after the first tier of tix have been sold.
