Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I think that IF Zeppelin plays Roo they were left off the initial lineup because they are the one band that is TOO BIG for the lineup. I want to see them real bad, but I also dont want to have to compete with 20,000,000 people just to get a chance to buy a ticket.
So, Im buying mine the day they go on sale and praying for the biggest lineup addition EVER.

first of all, ticket prices have gone up, and i don't think its "just because". also, the current lineup is missing something...we all know and feel it. i will go regardless of any addition, but still...there is no way jack johnson carries a headlining gig at Roo...no way.
now, i do think there's a chance that jpj and page(maybe one or the other) shows up for the superjam of the century, and LZ doesn't exactly headline.
either way, superfly is hiding something big(i think), and i do believe that lots of people will be eating crow when ticket sales are over.

This is what I posted about this in another thread:
With a price bump that big, I am still hopefull for Zeppelin also. Jack Johnson is really not big enough to headline imo, and I really hope to god that Kanye is not headlining.
I really really think that Superfly is holding back the good stuff to that regular Roo goers can get their tickets and Led Zeppelin and some other great bands are still to be announced.
They won't be there. I'd be willing to bet money on it. My reasons?
- Zeppelin have stated that they aren't going to consider a tour until after Plant gets done with his Krauss tour. - If Bonnaroo had Zeppelin, it would be the first thing announced, since they would sell pretty much every single ticket possible immediately and thus lock in all their profits. - Ticket prices just go up. It happens. Look at Coachella this year - inflation's a bitch. - The initial rumor was that Metallica and Led Zeppelin would headline. Bonnaroo stated that this was "inaccurate". Since we got Metallica, I am led to believe (no pun intended) that Led Zeppelin will not be joining us.
I know we all like to think that Superfly loves us, and has a special place in their heart for all the diehards, but be serious. If they had Zeppelin waiting in the wings, they would make it known - they could sell out every single ticket and make a mint in a very short time.
The only way I could see it happening is if, for whatever reason, Zep just hasn't given a final decision yet. I could see a case where they are still debating whether or not to play a one-off this summer. In that case, maybe. But there's no way they are already locked in and not announced.
i still think its possible. let the fans get their tickets, then release the hounds and let the scalpers grab theirs after tickets have been onsale a few weeks, then make the announcement. its makes sense. if they announced Zeppelin, about 3 people from here would be able to get tickets and they know that the festival would suck if it was all yuppies and what-not. they would all go see Zeppelin, and thats it. AC/Superfly is lookin for the long term I think. why pimp out Zeppelin and have non-Roo fans buy tickets, and have most people who can actually afford the scalper prices miss out on most of the weekend? AC/Superfly wouldnt do that to us. not after all the hype about the clues and everything and talking about all the message board people. they know they have true Roo fans and they wouldnt want to shut us out because they know they wouldnt come back next year.

no they wouldn't. announcing LZ early would open the doors to scalpers and other non-desirables. it makes PERFECT sense that they would keep this under wraps. bonnaroo doesn't have to worry about their tickets selling out, i assure you that.
which is also why they don't need Zep this year. Hell, having plant here is probably just another way to woo them in 09' after they've done a lap around the globe...
- Zeppelin have stated that they aren't going to consider a tour until after Plant gets done with his Krauss tour. Look here: www.jambase.com/Artists/Artist.aspx?ArtistID=6984 Plant is finished may 22nd at wembley. Roo is in June, AFTER his tour.

How exactly do you consider the Bonnaroo date not part of the tour when it consists of everyone he's been touring with (Krauss, T-Bone, et al.)?

Here's my thought. If Led Zeppelin is playing, they are keeping it secret, because they want to sell the tickets to people who will stay for the whole festival. Tons of Zeppelin fans would buy tickets for Zeppelin alone, and drive in that day and drive out that night. More chaos.
my theory the whole time was that they would not be announced with the original lineup because it would push out a lot of Bonnaroo faithfuls. Ticket prices point to them being there and it appears Jack Johnson is headlining which i think Zep would take his spot. they can always be in an addition

I consider it a show after their tour, its a while after may 22nd, when his major touring ends. Just saying, I think that it could add to Zep being there. Plant will be a couple weeks removed from his hardcore touring.

considering the reactions being given on the thread about the lineup, superfly's decision to keep them a secret(if that is the case), was a great decision. people are dropping like flies because they are disappointed with 3 out of what will eventually be 100+ bands.
props to those of us who can see past the headliners, and understand how great this lineup really is. also, we won't be the ones kicking ourselves if and when LZ takes the stage.

My response to this:
- One show does not a tour make.
- If Zeppelin was on the initial bill, it would be horrible public relations to the Bonnaroo faithful. Brokers have plenty of methods of gobbling up tickets before everyone else. They're professionals. It's what they do. If true music fans had to pay $1000+ for a ticket, they might never return and it would be the death knell for the 'Roo.
- Ticket prices do go up, but not that much. I paid $300 for a pair last year in the presale. It will be $500 for that same pair initially.
- Bonnaroo can deny until they are blue in the face, but it's a cardinal rule of media relations to not tell journalists what you don't want let out. Speculation alone would be enough for scalpers to go on and the rest of us would be screwed. Besides, members of Tool denied their involvement, as did Metallica.

right on, this is an amazing lineup minus a couple headliners. even they won't be terrible
Consider this everyone: What was the one BIG reason we thought Metallica wasn't going to headline prior to the clues?
Answer: Because the falt out DENIED they were playing Bonnaroo at all!!
This year (obviously) is the strangest series of events and artists for ANY festival EVER!! At this point ANYTHING is possible!! I still hold true to the fact that LZ could be there. If Metallica lied to everyone about playing roo, i have all the more reason to believe that AC/Superfly isn't givin us the whole truth!

I would be psyched for Led Zeppelin to be announced later on as a headliner... But even if this doesn't happen, we still have Lez Zeppelin...so maybe we will see Plant dropping by their set to lay down some vocals. It would be interesting.
