"Music has always been a matter of energy to me, a question of Fuel. Sentimental people call it Inspiration, but what they really mean is Fuel. I have always needed fuel. I am a serious consumer. On some nights I still believe that a car with the gas needle on empty can run about fifty more miles if you have the right music very loud on the radio."

There are a lot more bands that I will no way be seeing this year, but there are also a lot more that I am really excited about - and plus, the artist announcements will only make it better.
well, you ask me why i'm drunk all the time it levels my head and eases my mind i just walk along and stroll and sing i see better days and i do better things
after the initial shock of seeing metallica and kanye on top, i realized its only two in the top of a nasty lineup...pretty awesome i think. weak headliners but life goes on...

Overall dissapointed, but thrilled to get Pearl Jam. I'm not quite sure what to think about Metallica but I have always wanted to see them live - they just don't seem to fit at Roo......
I am however holding out for the addition of Zeppelin after tickets go on sale ;D
Kanye West and MIA made me say WTF, but whatever, I will find someone else to see while they play. I just hate that kind of music.
Either way, I am going because it still is worth every penny!
um, very dissapointing, no crowes, no qotsa, no black keys, no flips, etc. looks like little Glastonbury instead. I'll go, thanx to the raconteurs, plant and bb king.
Not bad but not overwhelming either. I'm counting 68 music acts in this first round and right off the bat I'm seeing close to 20 that I want to check out. Over the last four Roos the best we've ever done was 28 artists/ weekend. Figuring to get a few more adds plus learning about some of the bands on the list We're not familiar with - looking like a another full weekend - Let Do the Roo!!
(Please let the final headliner be Phil or ABB, not Jack...)
Awesome! I'm very pleased... i don't really even care that Metallica will be there, in fact, i may go watch them play... they can't be any worse than The Police! :-)
Yeah, don't waste your time with MIA. That was painful at Voodoo. But that will be one less conflict possibility. I dig the lineup but I do hope the Crowes add in a later round. Either way, I'll be there.
Sorry to all those who dislike the changes to Roo, but I will be happy to take your place in the Tennessee Sun! Prior to last night, inforoo was largely full of positivity and overwhelming amount of support and excitement. NOW,with the release of the line up, some of that energy has changed to negativity. While I have never been to a Roo, the vibe I got from reading posts from others was Roo was a place of positivity, good people, and great music. I'm sorry if the festival has lost its roots or if the changes to the festival cause you to feel negative towards bonnaroo. I personally I am not that excited for some of the acts, but I will be bringing an open mind and a positive attitude. Last I checked this is a 4-day music festival and not a trip to the dentist. Out with the old and in with the new as they say. Not trying to disrespect my elders, but don't fear change.
it just falls a couple acts short for me, but i have a good feeling that superfly will remedy it for me. so i will most definitely be making it back to the farm.
first reaction: NOOOO METALLICA"S PLAYING? (now i know im wondering around during this perfomance like planned when the rumors were out and about)
after a couple hours of sleep: Bring on ROO!!! cuz in the next couple of months, more bands will be added...so if i don't see who i'd like to see on the list now, they could be on later
There's no combination of words I could put on the back of a postcard. No song that I could sing. But I can try for your heart Our dreams, and they are made out of real things Like a, shoebox of photographs With sepiatone loving Love is the answer
A little feeling in my gut that I get of late when I think about these cats running the world with hate

Some of the lineup is really exciting like the Plant n Krauss, Bluegrass Allstars, Iron & Wine, Allman Bros, BBking, Yonder Mountain, orchestra baobab, Talib Kwali, Dark star and the such. I'm even interested in seeing Pj and Metallica again.
Needed Additions: Oysterhead Futureman and Black mozart Benevento Russo Duo Saul Williams Stephen Marley Trey (sorry haters but im a lover) Devendra Banhart
This message is a natural hand made product. The slight variations in spelling and grammar enhance its individual character and beauty, and in no way are to be considered flaws or defects.
I am a bonnavet, been every year. This is finally the straw that breaks the camel's back. I cannot believe people are excited about this. Metallica goes against everything bonnaroo stands for (i.e. bad vibes, fan appreciation, etc.) Ya, there are good acts like phil, allmans, bb, & um. But you can catch alot of those acts at other fests, not to mention they will hold better time slots at those fests. Farewell bonnaroo, it's been fun, but i'm turning my attention towards all good and 10kl. Viel spass to all that attend selloutaroo. (although, i am still interested in artist additions.

The more I look at the Bonnaroo lineup, the more I like the Langerado lineup.
Ditto.
But in the same sense... The more I look at it the more I appreciate how incredibly diverse the music is between the two... and the thought of me catching both of those makes me really anxious! It's like taking my favorite from every possible music genre and putting it in two festies.
Second Reaction (1 hour later): How the hell am I gonna get $250 in 10 days!?!
I think i'm most surprised that this is the only time i've seen this mentioned.
I'm impressed with the magnitude of roo'ers on this board that have no worries about the $225 tickets that are going on sale in....NINE DAYS!!!
I just paid rent and like 6 other bills!
Not only did it take them a painfully long time to release the lineup, once they did they were like, "now that we've flashed you this initial lineup, we'll give you 1 week to decide if you will go or not!"

This is the first lineup in Bonnaroo history that hasn't caused a "OMG I SO HAVE TO BE THERE!!" reaction in me. Doesn't mean I'm not going, still have to decide. But, the fact that I have to think about it speaks volumes.
A little underwhelmed was torn between "Meh" and "Disappointed") with the initail line-up, especially the headliners. But psyched and ready to go to Roo anyway. I've seen all the headliners a bunch so I look at it as a great opportunity to hear some new bands.
Still a lot more to come. Hoping for more electronic music for late night.
The more I look at the Bonnaroo lineup, the more I like the Langerado lineup.
I'm with you. For me, Langerado looks way better. I'm seriously thinking of Big Cypress now. I'm on board for Mountain Jam and looking forward to a good lineup for APW. Right now I'm thinking no Roo for me this year.
First Impression: theres a lot of mid-level acts taht I want to see or would like to see again.
Second Impression: I wish we'd gotten Portishead or Roger Waters. I've seen all the headliners except for Metallica and dont want to see any of them again. :-\
