Pearl Jam Jack Johnson Plant and Krauss Phil Lesh MMJ Allman Bros BB King Sigur Ros Levon Helm Ben Folds Bluegrass Allstars Umphrey's Yonder Trucks and Tedeschi Robert Randolph Solomon Burke Drive-By Truckers Avett Bros Aimee Mann Jose Gonzalez Donavon F Jakob Dylan Little Feat Steel Train Zach Galifianakis
Yeah I gotta say Sigor Ros is the most surprising for me, on a personal level. I am hoping that means a tour as well. I got Two Gallants and The Felice Brothers but no Nada Surf. Oh well. Really like this line up though.
It's taking some work to swallow this lineup...but there are some good points to it (for me)
The Allman Bros Phil & Friends Death Cab Rilo Kiley Mastodon (everyone please check them out n give them a chance!!!!!) Minus The Bear (They're gonna be perfect for Roo!!!) Willie BB (seen him once, great set!) Umphrees Racontuers DBT Against Me! (cant wait to hear Sink Florida Sink! @ Roo!) Dark Star Orchestra
This lineup is incredible... at first i couldn't believe my eyes as i stared at line one... METALLICA REALLY IS PLAYING?! wow... then i kept reading... and boy was i smiling...
i'm most excited to see: * Robert Plant and Alison Krauss featuring T-Bone Burnett * Phil Lesh & Friends - who'll be the & Friends this year? * The Allman Brothers - they better get a late day/headlining spot * Death Cab for Cutie - can't get enough * Sigur Ros - yes yes and more yes! * Iron & Wine - sam beam ftw! * The Swell Season - new to their music, love em * Talib Kweli - u mean talib, lyrics stick to your rib? * Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi's Soul Stew Revival * Gogol Bordello -2nd year, duh! * Robert Randolph's Revival - who will join RR onstage? * Lupe Fiasco - hell ya * Aimee Mann - long time fan * Ghostland Observatory - these guys are great! * Jose Gonzalez - omg, i love em * Dark Star Orchestra - love it... * Minus the Bear - ohhhh hell ya! * Lez Zeppelin - THESE LADIES ARE IMPRESSIVE!!! * Mason Jennings - haven't heard him in years...
the lineup is growing on me. if anything the diversity will hopefully make the crowds spread out even more. i still am up in the air about going tho.
my hopes for additions, i agree we def need some late night electonica. im saying dnb. AK1200 w/ MC Navigator Freaky Flow w/ MC Flipside something along those lines
at first i wasn't a fan of the lineup..but i couldnt sleep last night (i never ended up doing so)...and stayed up and listened to all the bands i had never heard of...... and i like...no.. i love what i hear. i am really liking this lineup now.

i went to sleep at 10:30pm, telling myself i'll look in the morning... my wife woke up in the middle of the night so i got up to and i went to check out the lineup and i couldn't go back to sleep, i was sooo freaking excited...

I gotta say this time around I'm more excited to see the Non headliners. I mean Metallica is talented and all. But IMO they don't beat The Allman Brothers, or Phi Lesh, or BB King, or My Morning Jacket. I can go on. NOTE that the last couple fests have had strange headliners. Not the usual straight through jam bands. So next year I wouldnt be surprised that they do this again.

Bonnaroo Comedy: Bonnaroo Late Night Chat About with David Cross Zach Galifianakis
The ones I'm most excited about: The Allman Brothers Band - perfect for a headliner or in the evening, but they need at least 2 full hours to play Phil & Friends - have any of you guys heard stuff from his last tour with Jackie Green, John Molo, and Steve Molitz? Probably Phil's best stuff, post-Dead. My Morning Jacket - the stuff of legends Sigur Ros - they would be the PERFECT late night act for the Roo. No doubts about it. Jack Johnson - wonderful for a laid back Saturday or Sunday afternoon. Iron & Wine - see above Derek Trucks & Susan Tedeschi - this will be amazing, Derek is one of the best guitarists around today Dark Star Orchestra - never seen them before, but I've never heard anything less than great about them. Umphrey's McGee - I missed their show in Ann Arbor last December and I'm kind of mad at myself about that Levon Helm -c'mon, he was a member of The Band! Ben Folds - say what you will, but this guy is both talented and hilarious! Donavon Frankenreiter - kind of like Jack Johnson's protegee, but with some funk added to the mix. Tons of fun. Phil Lesh/Larry Campbell/Jackie Green - this has got to mean an acoustic set by them, something that I will NOT miss. Bluegrass Allstars - Bela Fleck is in it, you'll see me there. Yonder Mountain String Band - I've never seen them, but I've heard great things B.B. King - the man is a living legend Willie Nelson - I've never heard a single song by him, but I'm sure he's loads of fun. Talib Kweli - I'm not that into hip-hop, but Talib is damn talented.
Plus, there are so many other artists listed that I've never heard of and I'm sure I'll end up liking at least a few of them. C'mon, it's Bonnaroo!
Perfect additions for the lineup: The Mars Volta, moe., Trey (though it's doubtful), The Shins, Brian Wilson, Belle & Sebastian, Devendra Banhart, New Monsoon, Steve Kimock, some form of the members of SCI
I think if any of those people are there I'll wet myself.
i'll admit i was a little scared when i first saw the line-up today but thats only cause i was looking at who wasn't there (led zeppelin cough cough). now i'm really excited about it and now that countdown clock is kicking my arse.

Where's the Levon love man? For those who aren't familiar with his recent "rambles," he essentially holds a jam session in which he plays with various guests, does a bunch of Band tunes, blues/country standards, songs off his new grammy-award nominated album. The possibilities for guests at the 'Roo Ramble are endless. It's going to be amazing! Last year my buddy went to a ramble at Levon's farm in Woodstock and Phil Lesh was supposed to show up to jam that night but couldn't make it in the end. Wouldn't be surprised if he shows up at the ramble, not to mention some Allman Bros. and LITTLE FEAT!!! Most underrated rock band. Lowell was/is THE MAN but trust me when I tell you these guys still have it going on. Superb lineup Superfly!
I started another similiar thread to this earlier today because I hadn't seen one that was loving on the lineup yet. But this is awesome. There are many many great bands!
Ive had mostly negative things to say about the line up, but i'm watching the 2003 bonnaroo dvd , and the MMJ clip is very inspiring, the more i think about it MMJ 5:30 into Pearl Jam saturday night followed by a yet to be announced late night act would be a pretty damn good saturday
also as far as the JacK Johnson bashing goes, I think its great hes closing down sunday, I think people are forgetting hes a product of Bonnaroo, he hold the essence of Bonnaroo, hes coming back to show some dap!
