Oracular Spectaculor is a great album. When i first saw the cover I was like "hells yes, this should be interesting." It is two guys but they have a full on band that performs with them. I saw them last year and it was awesome - they are billed for thursday right? I cant see them getting a big slot either. I wish! but doubting.

picked up oracular spectacular after the lineup came out. Really good stuff. Had never heard them before. Really like the electronic influence.
Another act I had never heard of that has me really interested is Ladytron. They are even more electronic.
i have heard that ladytron is kind of a snooze-fest live....is this true? I like their albums but have never seen them. Sorry this is the wrong thread.
I like the album, but I've heard mixed reviews about them live. I have also heard that while they were terrible live at one point, they have gotten a whole lot better.
So I'm not sure what to think, but I'll definitely catch these guys.

Like you said, the live reviews were pretty rough when they were first hitting the circuit, but since this last tour with Yeasayer, they've been more positive, if not horribly glowing. I wouldn't expect the second coming or anything, but I'm hoping they'll pick up their game for a festival setting.
"Time to Pretend," is one of my favorite songs of the year. Im gonna have to lace up my blue suede shoes and dance this set away. I'm very much looking forward to these guys.
fyi, not sure if it has been mentioned yet but if you havent yet check out the Time To Pretend music video. Cheesy production values, but done purposefully. Really great.
Oh, and it is pronounced M-G-M-T, not management (or at least that's what they do on XM)
When they played on Letterman, Dave introduced them as "M-G-M-T" instead of "management" too.
I saw them open for Yeasayer last weekend and wasn't impressed with their live show. I hope they're better at Roo. The album, on the other hand, is superb.

I just watched the letterman appearance and even that performance seemed shaky. I love the album and I'm definitely checking them out, but they make me nervous.
