I'm really liking "Time To Pretend." It reminds me of The Flaming Lips' earlier stuff, a la Transmissions From The Satellite Heart. Lots of pop sensibilities embellished in weird noises. Thumbs up!
I'm about to give it my second listen, and I'll get back to ya... I don't dislike it yet, but it doesn't click yet... so I'm giving it another try. "It" being Oracular Spectacular.
They used to be called Management, but recently changed it up. I figured the pronounciation would remain the same, but the DJs on XM are always pronouncing each letter, so who knows? I realize XM DJs aren't the best authority, but it's all I got!
these guys are def a great band "Electric Feet" is such an awesome song, i wouldnt expect these guys to get a late night tho or a big time slot, they are a new band and don't have that much material
This man came up to me just the other day, asked me I'd been born again. I told him, "I didn't think I had." That I had been rejected. But I think, Hell's got all the good bands anyway. And Bonnaroo.
These guys are excellent. Same dealio, checked them out when I saw their name on the line up. 'Time to Pretend' is quite epic, dripping in synthy goodness, and very well written lyrically as well. 'Weekend Wars' 'The Youth' 'Electric Feel' 'Kids' 'The Handshake' are all awesome tunes too. But the one that's stickin' out the most for me is also the least done up track they have; 'Pieces of What'. It's just got a timeless quality to it, yet still slighty offcentered in a cynical, jaded, 21st century kinda way. I'm pretty much rambling ridiculousness at this point, which I guess means I'm fallin' for these guys. They've definitly made their way onto my Can't Miss list.
