Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Not comparing the two, just saying that these concerns will be beaten to death in the coming months on this board when there is really no validation to the concern. You never know when someone near you might get out of control. The band has little to do with it. Even moreso with the environment that is had a t Bonnaroo. Don't worry too much. Even if you are alone, there are plenty of people around that will make sure nothing happens to innocent bystanders of some idiots bad drunken ideas.

i am not a huge metallica fan but if i was going to see them i would prefer the Bonnaroo crowd to the normal meathead crowd. Bonnaroo has its own vibe no matter who shows up it is just what performers choose to embrace it.
I didn't complain last year about tool, I know a lot of jam fans that are also into tool so this didn't intimidate me. but you are saying there is no difference between tool and metallica? besides I think safety is a pretty valid concern coming from the female perspective...just voicing my opinion.
Hey... please dont judge the Metallica crowd too harshly... Get to know us first. I can say that, without Metallica, my group would probably not be going.... We're old Metallica fans, and see them whenever we can....
That being said, we're CPA's and engineers, and we're looking forward to the whole Bonnaroo experience... but Pearl Jam and Metallica sealed the deal for us.
Does Metallica have some jerk fans? Yes.
But so does Widespread Panic. So does Jack Johnson. So does Led Zepplin. So does Warren Haynes.
They all do. The kind of people who are going to this festival for Metallica are still going to go for the whole atmospher that comes with Bonnaroo.
Don't worry kid, no one's out to ruin the fun. Just looking to join in.
You can enjoy our favorite band, and we'll enjoy some of yours.
r u guys fu¢kin scared of metallica, seriously? ive been a metallica fan for about 12 years now. ive only seen them live once and it was a killer show. ive been to bonnaroo every year and while i agree that metallica is a different headlinining act for bonnaroo, theyll fit in just as well as anyone else.
i'm not sure what you guys are imagining a metallica fan to be, but i can assure you that the kind of metallica fan you are imagining wouldn't come to bonnaroo in a million years. i also guarantee you the metallica fans that come to bonnaroo won't be half as obnoxious as the drunk frat-boy assholes that come to see jack johnson.
and oh yeah...they'll probably only do 1 song from load and reload. they usually only do their old stuff.

^^^I wouild agree with you 100% and would rather have old Metallica Fans than drunk Frat-boy fans but then again I am 32 and really don't connect with the current younger frat crowd. I have nothing against them just don't connect with them. Bring on my fellow accoutants and lawyers and etc who all grew up with Metallica and PJ like I did (well maybe not the lawyers )

So what you're saying is there aren't any stereotypical Metallica fans but there are stereotypical Jack Johnson fans??
I think we can all agree that there's the good and the bad to every band, and thus far it's been problem free and I really think it'll stay that way.
yes....and i know there are exceptions, but i'd say overall, your stereotypical metallica fans (the ones with the mullets) won't pay $250 to see metallica at a so-called "hippyfest." but a lot of the stereotypical, frat boy jack johnson fans (the ones that pop their collars up, which i see an abundance of at bonnaroo these days) have the money to spend on such an event.
And this is my opinion only because i am a metallica fan more so than a jack johnson fan. i don't mind jack johnson. i respect him as a musician. he's not my cup of whiskey, but im not going to whine about him coming to bonnaroo and i look forward to seeing him if he does in fact headline this year.
