I was just wondering if anyone is even excited about this guy because he is pretty much confirmed.
I'll admit I haven't listened to the guy but I did read the wikipedia article about him and he sounds pretty F-ing lame. He seems to have toured w/ some pretty crappy country singers(Kenney Chesney).
So just wanted to know if anyone is at all excited about him being there or if he is even any good (the wiki article scares me to much to listen to him).
had a few friends in college that liked him and i never got why.......oh well, to each his own......i'd rather have dierks bentley (and i'm not even that found of him) or better yet robert earl keen

Personally, I think he sucks. For me, if he played Roo, he would win the lamest Roo act ever award hands down.
People around here go to his shows to do one thing, get wasted. His music is standard pop country heavy on the drinking songs.
Smite me all you want, I don't care, but that is exactly why he sucks, and that is exactly why today's country music sucks ass, and that is exactly why people who like that crap have horrible taste in music. I really can't believe this guy opened for DMB a couple years ago. If I offended you, sorry, but there are country festivals that artists like this belong at.
Not the most popular opinion here but I'm actually fine with him. Never seen him live (except on YouTube) but I picked up one of his discs years ago when I couldn't get "Wave On Wave" out of my head. The disc was okay. I don't think that the world will end with him there and I'd check him out if there wasn't a conflict.
The weird thing I will say about this thread is that there are a couple of references to drinking songs being a bad thin. I love drinking songs -- but maybe that's just 'cause I listen to a good deal of Irishy music.

Eh...he's alright. I like a couple of his songs. I do remember my sophomore year in college while we were at South Padre for spring break, some spring breakers kicked his ass on the beach. I realllly wish I had seen it.
Close your eyes. Picture a convict. What's he wearing? Nothing special, baseball cap on backwards, baggy pants... he says something ordinary like... 'yo, thats shizzle.' Okay. Now slowly open your eyes again. Who are you picturing? A black man? Wrong. That was a white woman. Surprised? Well, shame on you.
I'm not a fan either but the best thing about roo is that it offers all sorts of music and doesn't commit its self to one genre. The other great thing about roo is that if you don't like something, you can just go to another stage!
I can't hate on Green. At least he has confirmed. I wish more bands would follow his lead!!
