Coachella, the info frenzy: Roger Waters in, Prince not 11:09 AM PT, Jan 21 2008
A crazy morning from the airwaves to the Internet:
Prince, rumored to be one of the headliners at Coachella, will not play the festival, a source says.
Roger Waters will, reprising his "Dark Side of the Moon" show.
And I'm pretty sure that Yvonne Velasquez, the DJ at Star 98.7 (KYSR-FM) in Los Angeles, just "announced" a Coachella lineup from one of the fake posters. For her sake, I hope I'm wrong. But she sounded serious, and she said Radiohead and Muse were playing. Which ain't true.

well, that sucks...i was really hoping for roger waters this year at roo...i won't go to coachella, bonnaroo is where its at...all these festivals compete with each other every year - coachella, bonnaroo, lolla, acl...then again, some of these fests have the same artists...but the headliners, thats where the biggest competition is...and its not like the people running the fests talk about the competition, as far as i know, its more the fans who do the talking...and a lot of people base how great the festival will be based on the headliners, which if you've ever been to a fest, you know, you can't base it on the headliners...still, with them getting waters, bonnaroo is gonna have to pull out at least one huge name to headline...maybe zeppelin will come true? who else can match roger waters? i'm thinking zeppelin, clapton & winwood...anyone got anyone else?

i've never seen gilmour, but waters show at the venue formerly known as deer creek in 06 was the best live experience of my life, it felt about 100 times better than anything i've ever seen...
I'll have to disagree. Rogers show (From videos) sounds just like the CD, that's good for some, but for me I like things to spice it up a bit. I watched a bit of David's latest DVD with all the special guests on stage (Bowie among them) and was extremely impressed.
wow. does this increase the odds for a headliner, maybe titled something like 'David Gilmour and Friends' including david bowie and crosby, stills and young?? im pretty sure it was those 3 who made an appearance in that dvd...itll get ya thinkin..

me 2, i've seen both... Though Roger Waters Had the greatest set of lights i've ever seen... David Gilmour had a terrific set, that out did Waters, and Gilmours sound was better indoors than waters, who was out doors...

neil young. i want to see neil young perform at bonnaroo 08 more than anyone else including any form of zep or floyd. his old shizz (lmao the boards put nuts for sh** so it said his old nuts rofl) is amazing, and his new records are just as good. the only reason i dont want to see a reuinion headliner is because they have no material and dont regularly play with each other, its really a staged performance for the money, not the fans. neil young has been going at if forever and from what i hear he still ROCKS on stage. PLEASE GIVE ME NEIL YOUNG!

having never seen neil young, i'm with you...i've listened to his set from bonnaroo 03 and i think he could come back and play a better set...and if he's there, why not try to get crosby, stills and nash there also...

I couldn't agree more. I saw him in December and I cried during the encore. And I never cry at concerts...that's how amazing he still is.
do you think maybe coachella got waters to contend with bonnaroo having Zeppelin? i really dont think roger waters is on the same level, but its a thought
Althought nothing matches the kinda original lineup with gilmour waters mason wright - Roger Waters' solo band with andy fairweather low and snowy white is off the chain...anyone seen the wall in berlin dvd? he has pretty much the same band now, cept his dreadlocked son plays organs with him now lol. We saw the dark side of the moon in virginia the last tour and it was amazing, we paid more for those tix than roo tix lol, but first row smoking a blunt to set the controls for the heart of the sun made me feel like i was seeing floyd 69' era.
This man came up to me just the other day, asked me I'd been born again. I told him, "I didn't think I had." That I had been rejected. But I think, Hell's got all the good bands anyway. And Bonnaroo.

i'd love to see neil young or CSN or all 4 (would that be pushing it?)
gilmore would be great, just cuz i've seen his DVD and his light show would rival Tool from last year (but most likely surpassing it)
i dont know enough about waters' live shows but from what i've heard, he'd be a great at roo, just dont see that happening if he's headlining coachella

The more I think about it, I'd rather see any combination of CSNY that includes Y than anybody.
