New tour announcement includes a date at Wembley Arena
Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, whose recent album 'Raising Sand' has garnered mass critical acclaim, have announced new European tour dates for 2008.
The tour will see the Led Zeppelin singer and country star play a date at London’s Wembley Arena on May 22, as well as three other UK dates in Birmingham, Manchester and Cardiff.
Robert Plant and Alison Krauss play:
Birmingham NIA (May 5) Manchester Apollo (7) Cardiff International Arena (8) Düsseldorf Philipshalle (10) Brussells Forest National Club (11) Paris Le Grand Rex Theatre (13) Amsterdam Heineken Music Hall (14) Stockholm Hovet (Ice Hall) (16) Oslo Spektrum (18) Bergen Bergenshalle (19) London Wembley Arena (22)
Tickets go on sale on Friday (December 14) at 9am GMT.
It's only logical to have the duo at roo. Look at the dates, it's begging for a beginning US tour in June, more than likely heavily in the south... Bonnaroo.

^^^I fully agree. Plus, it would seem that Superfly is trying to develop a relationship with the band. Give JPJ and then Plant positive experiences at Bonnaroo, so that when Zep most likely tours ('09?), they can book 'em.
I would say no. My hope would be that they play This, That, The Other---dang it all, where was SuperJam last year?!? If they played just prior to SuperJam, then Plant would already be there to take part in the Jam. ;D

I definitely think Plant/Krauss is a Saturday band, possibly Sunday, and the only stage they would play would be the What Stage. No question. In 2005, Alison played the What Stage as the first slot that started around 2 or 3. The Allman Brothers and DMB followed. And even though John Paul Jones played on just about every stage and in every tent last year, Robert Plant is a much bigger rock icon because he was the frontman. I also find it difficult to imagine Robert Plant accepting a slot that is not a headliner. I don't know him obviously, and I'm not saying anything about his ego or whatever but why not give them a chance to play 2-3 hours at night. They could play some of Alison's stuff, some of their new stuff from Raising Sand, and of course some Zeppelin songs. However, the pre-headliner slot could work. Also, the BB King leak said he was playing Saturday, so you know he will also be a What Stage act. He could play the Which Stage, that's where Taj Mahal and Bonnie Raitt played, but he's the king, so he'll most likely be on the What Stage. So with all of that, I started thinking and hoping that maybe Eric Clapton or Blind Faith may headline Saturday. So here's what I got for Saturday:
Opening band>BB King>Robert Plant and Alison Krauss>Eric Clapton or Blind Faith
or
Opening band>2nd band (maybe Robert Cray)>BB King>Robert Plant and Alison Krauss
or
Opening band>BB King>Allman Brothers>Plant and Krauss
or
Opening band>BB King>Plant and Krauss>Allman Brothers
