At this time of year, the word "possibly" can be applied to pretty much any band or musician in the world. I would be happy to see Beck again as his 2006 set was a highlight for me that year.
That would be awesome. I know he played in '06, and I've heard good things about his performance back then. He would be a really good alternative artist to have in the line-up.
Just like most acts every year, some loved it and others didn't. There are usually some fierce disagreements after Roo about who sucked and who didn't.
That said, I thought it was a good show, and would be happy to see him play again this year.
I loved it. One of my favs of that year, for sure. I don't know his schedule, but it seems like he wouldn't be back so soon... I'd be all for it though.
His 06 set didn't translate well. Wrong stage. Wrong time of day. Just wrong vibe all the way around. It wasn't that he was bad. It was just a performance that was better off at pretty much any other festival.

It feels like I'm in the minority but, I loved his set in '06! The puppets didn't bother me in the slightest. To each his/her own but, I don't know what everyone else expected. He's Beck. If he didn't do it differently than everyone else, It wouldn't have been him. If nothing else, his acoustic version of "Debra" made it all worth while. I wholeheartedly welcome another chance to see him in Manchester.

Awwwwwwe man! I bet that was awesome! Makes me so mad about my situation in '06 I had my ticket and everything! This year need to kick some serious ass
I wasn't impressed with his '06 set, either. Part of that (as others mentioned) was the heat, middle of the day, being on the What Stage, etc. But he just didn't seem like he really wanted to be there...not a lot of energy. I think he could rock a late night, though. Anyway, I highly doubt Beck is back in any form this year.

Also of note, I think I read somewhere (maybe Rolling Stone) that Beck's set was one of the most popular and liked sets, by the crowd backstage, including fellow musicians.
So I don't know, his performance was really good, if you ask me.

I thought his performance was great, one of my faves of the weekend. Definitely entertained me....still one of the shows I talk about today when I talk about Roo!

The thing is...the entire set was part of his tour's schtick. Every city he went to he did the puppets. He did the table scene. He did the skits for each city they went to. But it was a club tour. Everything they did was designed for an intimate setting. So I think that's a lot of why people didn't react so well to it.

I thought it was a Theater tour, not small clubs. I saw him a few nights after Bonnaroo in Tucson at a theater that holds a few thousand. The show was changed up quite a bit. They didn't bring out the giant boom box b/c the stage was too small. I enjoyed both immensly. He can come back to Roo any time, with any kind of act, IMHO.
