Have you ever HEARD Dylan and the Dead?? It's maybe the worst album ever created, from what is widely regarded as Dylan's worst tour. Yeah, the combination probably should have worked. It didn't...at all.
Just a small note -- The only reason I don't have Tool numbers 1 - 10 on my want list is because I refuse to believe they will ever play bonnaroo again. No way after last years historic performance.

i agree bob dylan and the deads not that great a few good songs but i saw dylan this year and i dont really want to see him with his band ever again IMO every song sounded the same. if he played with the dead he'd have to play his older music and the band would be good but doubt it will ever happen again if you say the tour was horrible.

Haha, I agree... The album is junk. Bought it blindly about 10 years ago, when I was still trying to find out what kind of classic rock I was really into... it didn't help me one bit! Terrible record.

and hoodooOperator you are right. My 1-10 Celine Dion hating was not really creative or realistic. But there really is NO act that could come that I would refuse to take a listen to.

in all fairness... that came at a time when the dead were on a sober streak and dylan was far from it...
these days... i bet TOOL could play as dylans backup band and it sound the same as it does now. not saying that would happen but halfway talented musicians can play dylan. and not even dylan can sing it with half the soul he used to.
if robert zimmerman was at roo i would check out a little of his set before heading to shakedown street and the latenights, but i hope he isn't

thats exactly why i put moby on there, cause i think his music would be perfect for a latenight show at bonnaroo, i think his show would be on the same level as the flaming lips, and earlier today i saw somewhere on the internet that he's working on a new album, however i see him playing coachella before bonnaroo

Here are some acts I've either heard nothing about, very little about, or for that matter, no one really mentioning that they would like to see at Bonnaroo:
Jerry Lee Lewis - I don't really care either way, I'm not a fan, actually I've never heard his music, so I guess I never wanted to get into him, I'm just throwing his name out there because he's a legend, and it seems like over the past couple years he's been playing more shows than I knew of or thought of
The Verve - apparently they might be reuniting, I would like to see them, but I think their music fits better with the California scene, that is why I picture them at Coachella before Bonnaroo, I believe they're rumored to be playing there, however, I would never in my life think of picking Coachella over Bonnaroo
Metallica - I used to love Metallica, that was up until the Load album, but I really haven't given a fuck about them in what seems like around 12 years, I would never ever want them at Bonnaroo, they just seem to be one of the biggest, original metal acts that are still around, so their status is kind of legendary I guess, and they did play the Bridge School Benefit this year, not that that means anything, I also heard that Gov't Mule was James Hetfield's favorite band, and former bassist Jason Newsted played with Mule for The Deep End or Deepest End, I can't remember which one
Moby - I think I may have been the first one to throw his name out there, again, I picture him at Coachella before Bonnaroo because he fits better with that scene, I used to love him about 7 o 8 years ago, I've never seen him live, and in all honesty I think his music would make for one of the best Bonnaroo late night shows for those in an altered state of mind, I don't think it would be near as good as the Flaming Lips, butif you've never heard him and are curious, check out his album Play, I love it from beginning to end
Emmylou Harris - not really a fan, but I don't dislike her, I just think she kind of has that status in country music as close to a legendary artist, and she's worked with plenty of Bonnaroo artists, I even think she's played before
John Scofield - maybe people have mentioned him and I don't know about it, if they bring back the jazz tent, I think he would be a shoe in, but I think he might be too big for the jazz tent, which is why I hope they expand it, I would definitely love to see him with MMW, I know he just played with Phil in 2006, but I think he's popular among the Bonnaroo crowd
Robert Cray Band - I know they were on the free Bonnaroo cd in 2005 that we got, if anyone still has that cd, and I think if they bring back some blues or a legendary blues act, he should be at the top of the list, we've had Buddy Guy, Taj Mahal, not sure what other strictly blues acts there has been, but he's about next in line, which makes me think of another one,
BB King - he's gotta be at the top of the list if they bring back the blues, you can't pass up the king,
and if Robert Cray or BB King played, I think the chance of seeing some form of Clapton would be great, so if Clapton, Blind Faith or Cream headlined Saturday I'd like to see either Cray, King or the Allman's open for them
Bustle in Your Hedgerow/Benevento-Russo Duo - either one will work for me, and should we not get Zeppelin, I think BIYH would be really cool even though it's an instrumental cover band, they are really fucking great, it's basically like a SuperJam of Zeppelin songs, which is kind of why I don't see it happening, cause the SuperJam last year was basically all Zeppelin material, but just the duo is great too
Animal Collective - I'm sure they've been mentioned by several people, I think they played in 2006, their album Strawberry Jam has gotten great reviews, I think their music would work best as a night show on Thurs or a latenight show Fri or Sat in a tent, and it's fucking crazy what I read about what they did for inspiration or while working on this album, they went to Africa or something and did these crazy hallucinogenic drugs I've never heard of with some African tribes or something, can't remember exactly what I read about it or where, but just listen to the album and you'll understand
