I'd bring my djembe and jam out with him. Man, I'd give anything for that. No matter how much of an eccentric asshole he is, Anton is one of the most talented artists ever.
Oh god i hope not. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love the Brian Jonestown Massacre but seriously, talk about the worst possible fit. Bonnaroo is a peaceful, happy place full of all this kindness and love, I can't think of a worse person to put in the middle of that that Anton Newcombe, the pathetic insane aging junkie. Half the people that see him only see him to jeer at him for being such an not a very nice person to begin with so it's liable to really turn the mood of the fans even before anything Anton does. I saw him in Vancouver back in september and someone threw a bottle at him and he snapped and like, smashed a bottle and started waving it at us, calling "whoever did it" (which for all purposes was every one of us, since he didn't know who did it) faggots and that word that white people aren't really supposed to say, and threatening to kill us (that is actually all of us).
It was kind of cool at first but then you started to realize he's just an angry, bitter old man who blames everyone else for his inability to take his career where he wanted it to. It seems to me that everything he is is in complete opposition to everything Bonnaroo is. Even before the show started he was yelling at fans who tried to talk to him or get his autograph or whatever. it was depressing!
