It does NOT contain ANY footage from the Bonnaro show. We (in the royal-est sense) are not amused. And voiced our displeasure in the comments section of the Nightwatchman's blog site......Boonaroosters can use third person references too

I may make a myspace just so I can post on his blog. The Inforoo is not pleased with the Nightwatchman. We heard that song twice, and we could have heard my favorite Nightwatchman song "California's Dark" instead probably if he hadn't have been playing for footage.
^^^Yeah, that's what really got me ticked off. That he/they played up the video being shot at Bonnaroo, not just when they were there shooting it, but MANY times since then....as late as last week I saw a blog entry or interview excerpt where Tom or one of his camp was talking about the video being out "really soon" and that it would show him playing a mandolin and that it would contain footage shot at Bonnaroo. Now, by last week if they didn't have any usable footage they would SURELY have known it....why perpetuate the story right up till they release the video when it doesn't even contain a FRAME from Bonnaroo? I just don't get it.....smacks of intentional misleading and that is something I just don't approve of. By anyone.

We had gave great responses to both of the times he played the song. As Tom himself noted, we went even crazier the second time, as if we hadn't even heard the song before. We did our awesome clapping in unison to.
Ok, so I just made a myspace so I could post on his blog, here is what I wrote, I hope it doesn't sound too harsh:
Tom, I like the video...but where is the Bonnaroo footage that was promised? You played the song twice to get footage for the video, and as you yourself said, we went had an even better response the second time you played the song. I hope you can help clear this up for me, because right now I am slightly disappointed at being mislead by the person who is the reason I started playing guitar.
At least you tried....that's more than a lot of people did or would do....I give you respect for that. And karma when I am able again! I can completely understand that it is a definite acquired taste - and 180 degrees from RATM which is what a lot of people go in expecting. If we weren't all different how boring would life be? ;D

Nope, I think that is completely appropriate and not at all harsh. It's just asking for an explanation for something that was very clearly explained and highlighted many times.....I think he owes his fans that much.....otherwise I think he will lose a lot of credibility, I know he will with me and I hate that....

exactly. i dont think i was expecting anything like Rage, but i was expecting something a little more exciting i guess. i dont know, i cant put my finger on it . . . . . . . . . .

Well I hope we get an explanation soon, and I hope some more people from Inforoo drop by his blog and inquire about it (karma to anyone who does).
He also has a page on fuzz.com thenightwatchman.fuzz.com/ that you can post to if you would rather. I think he is slowly (or faster) trying to move to fuzz more than myspace. He had a blogger from Fuzz with him on his tour, that was the woman taking pictures from the stage and the pit that some of you at the show may have seen. She has a blog on fuzz about touring with The Nightwatchman, it's pretty neat. Her name is Abigail. I think she wore a fuzz T at Bonnaroo. Anyway...I digress. You can contact him at his fuzz page as well.

Yeah, that was me the first time I checked out his solo stuff. I was like "woah....this is.....not what I was expecting". Took me a while to get where he was coming from. And he was REALLY rough around the edges too (some would say he still is ) But I respect that he needed to create a whole new identity to not be compared to either RATM or Audioslave - those are both pretty major things to live up to. And of course it had to be very politically oriented. The Folk/Protest thing is definitely NOT going to be compared to his work with either. And you don't have to have a Chris Cornell voice to sing that stuff, so....not a bad move overall, especially if you aren't doing it to get rich and sell millions of records. His bread and butter I think will always be his incredible electric skills and creativity, but if this fills his soul and his free time, then I"ll listen.....IF he can prove he is sincere.....
Interesting, that he would stand up there, and call the president and his administration a bunch of liars, then do the same in an attempt to solicit a crowd response.

Well I was just randomly looking at Tom's MySpace, and he actually addressed our questions.
From his MySpace Blog:
(Oh, you may have noticed that the 'Alone Without You' video does not contain footage from my live performance of the song at Bonaroo. Director Danny Clinch felt that the look of that footage did not fit with the other film we shot of me performing the song back stage. My thanks to those of you in attendance who sat through the song twice! We got a lot of great footage that day which will come out at some point.)
I'm glad that he addressed it, and lets hope he keeps his word on releasing the footage (and coming back to Bonnaroo).

I saw this too. At least he did acknowledge it. I really don't care if they ever do anything with the film. I just wanted to know wtf?
As for over-reaction....I just hate hypocrites. When someone tells me someone else is lying to me then turns around and lies to me...well. that just 'pisses' me off for some reason - ya know? If that is over-reacting then maybe we need a little more of that.... ;D
