He seemed a little bit awkward and nervous at first but he really got into his set and his band added a little spice to many of the songs from his album to kick some rock into it. The crowd seemed to have a smile on their face and gently dancing along, so I feel like he was a crowd pleaser. Just a really nice, cool, mood-stabilizing set to escape the heat and keep it lighthearted. If you like These Streets, I'm certain you would enjoy his live set. You have to appreciate his talent for a 20 year old. "Alloway Grove" was probably the highlight of his show.
I saw him do a photo shoot for Spin while backstage (I think), and wow... he was NOT liking it. LOL... I felt like throwing him a drink and saying, "LOOSEN THE FUCK UP DUDE!!!"
i saw the end of the set, I really love his voice and style, it was very good, and people were enjoying it.
I just wish he'd look out at the crowd more.
From any picture I've seen, he does look like a very reserved kinda guy.
I've seen videos of him covering "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley. I was really hoping to catch his cover of that, as what I've seen is amazing, but didn't see him sing it this time. I did see "I wanna be like you" and "Jenny don't be hasty"
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this

I was there for half his set, plotting for a good spot for Tom Morello. I'm sorry I didn't pay much attention to his set either, I was too excited to see Tom.

I have to say that this was the funniest set of bonnaroo. I was on the rail and each of the band members faces were hilarious. The guitarist guy would "rock out" and get this scrunched up face that kept both me and my friends laughing throughout the entire set. It was also funny when Paulo said to the bassist this big ape wrote this next song and the bassist had this really confused look on his face like man this guy is out of his mind.
I really did enjoy myself though from beginning (with the rocky theme) to the end (where he abruptly and awkwardly ran off stage).
I had a lot of fun at his set, but it was unfortunately overshadowed by the sheer volume of incredible acts I saw over the weekend. I think he's playing here in Boston sometime over the summer, so I'll try and check that out.

That's pretty much how I felt about his set, too. I'd never heard any of his stuff before, perhaps that would have made it better for me? Either way, his Jungle Book cover was great, and I also distincly remember a really fun song about "funky cigarettes" or something...anyone?

Not that I am obsessed or anything, but I am absolutely amazed by Paolo Nutini. If you have ever seen an interview with him, it is actually painful. He is so reserved, very uncomfortable. I think it's endearing that he is in his own little world when he sings. Something truly amazing comes from that energy he carries. This is one of the shows that I HAD to see while at Roo and I was not let down! What a beautiful soul. And for the record, his quirkiness makes him a bit sexier! Take care of all of you!
Forgot to add. Watched an interview where he said that he was ready for all the music part of it, playin all over and such, but he wasn't ready for the interviews all day long. Something to that effect. I felt bad that he had to endure such "pain" in order to bring us that melting voice of his. And he still shares it with us. Oh thank you Paolo.
