Dixie Dirt was fabulous... a tremendous bookend to the weekend. Despite all climates being against them (oppressively hot, going on immediately opposite Bob Weir in a tent full of sleeping hippies, Sunday afternoon show) they were truly fabulous. I got a front spot, a setlist, a tee and a big smile. My friend whom I had talked the band up to pre-set was very impressed. It was a treat to discover them in '05 and the '07 set was one of my faves. I felt like I was witnessing what others before me felt when they saw Throwing Muses or the Pixies play small clubs back in the day.
