JBT for sure. The first show on Sunday on the big stage is always great. You can walk right up to the stage there will be plenty of room to spread out and get into the show. The Codetalkers on the main stage at noon on Sunday last year was out standing. When I look at pictures from this show you can see me and my buddy right up front with plenty of dancing room. JBT will really kick the day off right.
Both seem like good shows to check out on Sunday. Who do you recommend?
My other conflicts are:
The Roots vs The Black Keys
Damien Rice vs The Hold Steady
I won't even get into the Flips vs Mule conflict ???
Please help me make up my mind!
yea i already posed this question and the total onesidedness of it, decided it for me. in this polll i voted jbt. of your other choices, i would go with the roots, damien rice and you can see flips and mule will still be playing.

Go. See. The. Roots. Seriously, they are on some other nuts these days; their live shows are so good to the point its ridiculous. Just wait until they play their BADASS cover of "Masters of War".
On the other fronts...I'm picking the Hold Steady over Damien Rice. I love them both, but a) I'm not as into Damien's newer material, b) Damien no longer has Lisa with him, c) the Hold Steady are supposed to be great live, and d) I know what Damien does. If I don't like the Hold Steady, I can always move.
Oh, and I will get into the Flaming Lips/ Mule conflict: Go see the Lips. Their show will last between 2 and 2.5 hours, tops. Even if it runs the full 2.5, you can still catch part of Mule.
it won't go over 2 hr. so says a member of the band. so there will definitely be more mule to see afterwards.

As a huge Pete Yorn fan, it pains me to say this, but go with JBT or Mavis. Personally, I will be at Pete's show. I've never missed a show by Pete Yorn in Nashville, and I never will. His albums are all really great IMO, but......if you don't know the albums, and if you don't really know if you like him, skip his show. It can get kind of boring if you don't know the songs. I'll be there with a big smile on, because his music just does something for me. And if it wasn't for him playing that spot, I would be JBT all the way.
The Roots vs The Black Keys? Now THAT'S a hard decision!

i'll be at pete (should be a very cool show and a great way to start the day). also, i'll be at the black keys because i have been meaning to see them for awhile now. they are blowing up and this b-roo show should be epic and balls-out. it would be nice to see the roots, but i'd prefer some crunchy raw blues rock instead. just my 2 cents.
