Personally most of my time will be spent at Ben Harper, as I have been a loyal fan of his since before he appeared on Jack Johnson's Brushfire Fairytales album and have never gotten to see him live. But as I said before, I'm probably going to run around for a bit at the end.
I saw them once a couple years ago and they weren't great...I didn't hate it, but the crowd really did...they actually got booed when they were on and booed again when the headliner mentioned them...maybe it was just an off night, but I'll be at Ween or Keller or Ben instead of giving them a second chance....I hope they give you a good show though.

love FF.. caught them on their first tour in NYC ... things got a little weird when they played 'michael' (think gay dance party) but something tells me that wont be the scene at the roo
I personally think Michael will be the highlight of the show if they should play it. My boyfriend and I are looking forward to FF. I think it will be a fun show.
We treat mishaps like sinking ships and I know that I don't want to be out to drift Well I can see it in your eyes like I taste your lips and They both tell me that we're better than this

Hilari and I will be there! With all of the mind blowing/face melting/life changing shows that I'll be seeing at Roo, I'm looking forward to some good, high energy, danceable, 100% fun rock n roll! Sounds perfect to me!

Actually Oats, those are my thoughts exactly...some nice..simple old fashioned goofball rock will be a nice leadin for the Police. Then things get silly after midnight.

Oh I will be front and center for that show. I'm a mega fan and love them to death. They have a great pop-rock, Brit sound that I love. The show that was described above where they got booed was probably the one early in their career when they played at a festival that was for the wrong genre. I think the festival was heavy metal or something and their music did not fit in at all and I don't think their dress and style fit in with the heavy metal crowd.
Anyway, this festival will be a good fit and I hear they will be playing a few new songs from the new album that they are working on.
I don't know why I said that. Don't all bands include new songs from the album they are working on? Duh! ;-)

Well....the show was about 2.5 years ago...it was a hard rock show...but I'd say it was the same audience that would show up if someone put on a show with Wolfmother, The White Stripes, The Black Keys, Clutch, and Tool.....man I'd show up to a show like that in a heartbeat!!!
It is funny that you know exactly when their "bad" show was...yet claim it wasn't bad.....like I said...I personally didn't hate it, but it wasn't worth a second look instead of watching Keller or Ben.

^ No big deal to me. I'm not trying to convince anyone to see a show they don't want to . I was just explaining perhaps why they got booed. Maybe the festival you attended was a different show, but here is an excerpt from an article I read about when they got booed.
"The band didn't quite grasp what it was up against in the States until after it had already broken through. Last December, it played between Korn and Papa Roach at something called Claus Fest, a K-Rock-sponsored show held in the swamps of New Jersey. In what may go down as new metal's last stand, the crowd booed Franz -- who had all applied extra eyeliner for the occasion. "It was great -- all these meathead metal fans with their middle fingers raised up," Kapranos recalls, grinning, as he perches on a garishly purple tour-bus couch. He's taken off his shiny leather boots, unveiling a pair of bright-red socks that no goateed metal dude would touch. "That was when it really struck us how much a set of outsiders we were," he continues, "taking on the establishment of rock music in America. And that felt really exciting."
I'm excited to see them, but disappointed that their up against Spoon. I'm probably going to catch the beginning of Spoon and then head over to Franz.
I have the same plan. Now that superjam is going to have Harper, then I can skip him and just catch him at superjam. Franz will bring some good energy to segue into the Police. My mind is still blown from the superjam announcement. One week away, people, one week away.
