Ok, so last year, when Radiohead did their epic 2 and a half hour orgasm on stage. When they did Like Spinning Plates, I swear on everything that is holy that Johnny was playing his guitar with a bow, but my friend said that Johnny definitely wasn't playing with one, he just had a lot of distortion on his guitar.
I called bs on that and even after I showed him this video:
Where you can clearly hear the bowing in the song, he still said it was just heavy distortion.
Do any of you remember seeing Johnny play a bow during this?? I know he did!
We started moving towards the front right after Beck started (3 hours before Radiohead) and ended up about 15 "rows" from the stage....if you can handle not going ANYWHERE for about 6 to 7 hours, I would say it is totally worth it, the concert was absolutely unforgettable, and all of the people around you are absolutely diehard fans - a hell of a lot of fun to be around!

yeah, i got in the front 1/2 hr before elvis costello. then waited there through his set, beck's set, and finally through radiohead's set. my answer to your question...no. i was hungry and dehydrated (even though i brought about 10 bottles of water in) and grown very tired from being smooshed in front all day in the hot sun. i went back to the tent after that show and missed the late nite sets. in retrospect, i wish i'd just settled for a decent spot and only wasted an hour or 2. but, i could tell everyone back home that i was on the rail for radiohead.
i've been playing guitar for many years now and that doesn't sound like any E-bow that i've ever heard. sounds like he hit the fuzz pedal and was using a real bow...
It was totally worth being up front at that concert. Best experience ever. No regrets. I want a dvd of that sooo bad. I will definitely be on there if there is one.

I think he was, it just sounded different because he was playing a guitar with distortion. Best show of my life, Like Spinning Plates made me cry (as did Exit Music). I hope they announce some tour dates...I vote for Alpine Valley.
