just basing it off the thread where people are posting their schedules and who they plan to see. only like 35 people have responded so far. but multiply this by thousands and you will have a good idea.
1.the biggest draw of the festival is the police, i think only 1 person in that thread did not list the police. 2.tool (not far behind) 3. more people will be at white stripes (32) on the 2nd stage than wsp (23) on the main 4.flaming lips should play the main stage because almost everyone is planning on seeing them for at least a little while, then leaving to see govt. mule, sasha & digweed and galactic
ranking the rest of the main stage acts (from most to least crowded) wilco the roots/ ziggy marley ratdog/ ben harper john butler trio kings of leon mardia gras indians will have the smallest turn out on the main stage
on which stage wolfmother decemberists manu chao/ ocms sci (with that packed late night lineup, even counting people that are partially planning to see them, i am really surprrised their number was so low. from the looks of it they should be tent instead of stage spearhead regina spektor/ damien rice brazilian girls rx bandits franz ferdinand (really low number for a stage headliner) pete yorn (i think most of the people there will just be waiting for wolfmother)
the tent numbers are the most surprising cold war kids and rodrigo y gabriela most crowded tent? yep. maybe only because they're playing so early? no competition. and rod y gab because they're the last one playing thur. in the main tents
tortoise 2nd most crowded? along with the nightwatchman and sasha & digweed late night
dj shadow/ black angels (damn i thought i would see black angels just to get a spot for mute math, but they will have one of the most crowded tents of the weekend)
ween/ tbd? govt. mule stanton moore trio (most are only dropping in though) and the whigs are going to be hella packed late night thur. in the cafe
least crowded tents uncle earl ( i was the only one that listed them and i was just going to check them out before cold war kids)/ martha wainwright ( also only 1 person listed)
klezmer allstars, richard thompson, dubconscious in the cafe, sam roberts band, paolo nutini
lily allen, spoon (hurt by all the competiton), fountains of wayne, t-bone burnett, mavis staples, charlie louvin, gogol bordello
gillian welch, girl talk, ryan shaw, keller williams (looks like he was really hurt by the competiton, but i doubt his turn out will really be this low), feist, ralph stanley, apollo sunshine
i was just interested. and some other people may be intesrested if they wanna know where the big crowds are going to be and where they can go if they want a small crowd to relax and chill out.
As far as shoulder to shoulder crowding, definitely White Stripes. There's no reason they should be on the Which Stage, there are soooooooo many people wanting to see them, that is going to be CROWDED.

yea i was thinking about leaving that stage to see some other stuff, but it will be so packed that we may just stay there.
the most CROWDED, as is most people trying to fit into an area where a much smaller number of people should fit:
3:30-3:50, Warren Haynes acoustic on the Sonic Stage.
i got one better. i left out the comedy tent. out of the 40 or so people so far in the schedule poll, 19 want to see lewis black first thing on thur night. that tent is going to be packed and lined up. i better get there early or i will just go find something else to do.
Nice job Sangreal. Solid work. I think this type of stuff is good to know.
Also props on your schedulogy work. I know that it was not right on, but I was planning my Roo to it for a couple weeks before the actual schedule came out.
I definitely think that the White Stripes are going to be redonculously packed. Especially as Wilco, Feist, NMAS, Coleman finish up, that stage is going to continue to get packed as the set goes on.

thanks. white stripes need to be on the main stage, that's going to be crazy.
