Spoon is probably going to announce a Fall tour since they are releasing an new album soon, so you probably have a better chance of seeing Spoon again. My two cents.

Personally I think Keller and Harper should just say "forget this schedule" and play together on the same stage. I think they'd make an interesting jam duo.
I'm gonna be at Keller. My big conflict was Keller or Ben Harper in that timeslot, but I've never seen Keller with a band, only the loop thing and once with the Keels, so I think Keller wins out for me.

*i like coconuts, you can break them open they smell like ladies lyin in the sun** *Hell I don't even know where I am** *for now I must sit here and ponder the yonder: The herbivores did well cause their food didn't never run** *We listen, if it feels good We shake** *You made a big impression for a girl of your size, Now I can't get by without you and your big brown eyes.**
I'm probably gonna go to Ben Harper then Keller for a while, and when he finishes, probably try to zip over to catch the end of Ween to see what the big deal is about them.
yeah...I don't understand people saying they are splitting sets. Have they ever been to bonnaroo before. It's possible...but it ruins one or the other...or both.

Can I ask why? I haven't been before and was planning on splitting a lot of sets. So many groups I want to see! Are the stages really far apart or something?
the thing is....some of them are a little ways apart....not that far...but maybe a 10-20 minute walk or so depending. then there is the factor of where you want to be in the crowd. if it's a stage you have a better chance of moving forward through the crowd. if it's a tent it can get pretty tight depending on the show. Then think about the fact that you have no control over what they play when so if you skip you run the risk of missing something important....special guests...special songs....etc. It is really better if you choose one and get there with plenty of time to get a good spot and stay the whole time to let yourself really experience the whole show. It's not as fun to half-ass two shows rather than go all out for just one. But that is my opinion and you can judge it more once you experience it and get the hang of it there. Just don't go running between sets....it's not set up that friendly....like a tv screen.....they are shows that you have to devote time to to see. You should make a priority list to make it easier on yourself. what bands tour near you....what bands have you seen....what bands have special bonnaroo performances....what are your must sees no matter what. think about things like that. your going to have to make sacrifices either way....just make your choice a good one and enjoy it 2x as much.
I disagree somewhat. I have been 4 times and always split a bunch of sets. If there is a band I am truly wanting to see I'll stay the whole set and if there is a band I am seeing that is just incredible I'll stay even if I was planning on splitting sets, but I've split alot of sets over the years and I am happy I have, that's how I've gotten to see so many great bands. Plus, I think you are way overestimating the time to walk between stages. Sure, walking from the What Stage to the Other Tent is longer, but I don't think it really ever takes more than 5 minutes to make the walk between any of the stages other than leaving the What Stage since it's separated.

ha, yeah I suck estimating walking....but it takes longer than your saying because your going to be navigating out of a crowd and back into one. plus the crowds on the way there. IF you hurry you can make it pretty fast. but sometimes you can barely walk in spots. But you said it yourself. Your going to want to stay the whole time unless you just really don't care who your seeing... in that case it doesn't even matter. But split a set and risk missing something great. and like I said everyone is different and has different priorities.

Well on occasion splitting means sacrificing being up real close which is fine by me, so navigating out of the crowd isn't too tough. There are only a handful of bands I really want to be close to the front for, especially during the day when I'd rather take it easier, hop from stage to stage, have the ability to easily get a drink or something to eat, etc. It's all a matter of preference.

I've got to agree. This is my fourth year. The first year I did straight sets, saw my faves who I'd already seen before and had a great time. The last two years I split time, spent less time with artists I'd seen before and had an even better time. (This was especially necessarily during the Black Crowes-Jack Johnson-Keller Williams-OAR-Will Hoge-Iron and Wine monsoon conundrum.)
I will say that the early advice I got to forego artists you've seen dozens of times in favor of experiencing something new. That's what Roo is all about.
I guess that my advice is follow your gut. If you're feeling drawn to check something else out by all means do so. As a rule you miss about a song in transition from tent to tent (the main stage may take a bit longer). If you get there and feel that you're not as happy as you were ten minutes ago -- Go Back!
