Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Last year during Phil Lesh my friends and I walked around Centeroo and then went back and packed up the car. Of course, then we had the dilemma of sitting in the rain without a canopy, but thank goodness we had friendly neighbors! We'll probably skip out early this year on Sunday too (none of us are big Widespread fans) since I have to be at work the next morning, plus you get to avoid traffic. But you can always find something to do!

Sunday will be my busiest day music-wise so I will probably be about ready to go home at the point. I might catch a little of Panic, but I've seen them a few times and they have just never really done much for me. Or I might shop at all the vendors for some last day bargains......
I'm not a WSP fan and I'm going too walk around and maybe chill at camp, I have seen them alot but only one time at Bonnaroo, I'm staying till Monday because my bro loves them but, it is a good time to get out of Bonnaroo if you want

Getting your music/festival info from Rolling Stone is like getting your car mechanic advice from the bag boy at Autozone... "the best jam band festival" article must have been right next to the three page spread on Britney.

I was surprised to see them as a headliner as I've never heard anyone talk about them and even people on the boards here don't get all riled up about them. I wasn't impressed by the studio stuff I've heard, but I'll dig into some live sessions. I'll be there for awhile and stay as long as I'm interested.
That's because the dynamic of Roo has evolved since the beginning as a jammy festival, even the new Rolling Stone states that the best jam band festival is the All Good in WV. Take a look at the early year's artists as a comparison
I've had a little trouble getting into Panic. I was there in '05 when they headlined two nights. I think that hurt Bonnaroo that year. I didn't make it all the way through either show, but that was mostly due to exhaustion.
I remember thinking when they canned the last guitarist, "they should get Jimmmy Herring". They must've read my mind. So I think I might make it all the way through this year. Besides it costs the same whether you go or not.
i think i am going to end up doing the same thing as last year during phil just lay towards the back watch the people spinning their glow sticks chat with my friends lay back and relax after standing and running around for 4 days
I'm not a HUGE WSP fan.. but I do love seeing them live. they do some crazy things. I can't wait to see them end the roo this year. in 05 it seemed like they brought up everyone to jam with them.
I really don't like their studio stuff, but live, they are amazing. I plan on being in the back of the crowd where I can lay out and just get wasted and enjoy the music.
widespread panic should be decent and all, but i'm wondering if there's going to be much of anything to do when tool plays (i don't like them much, and this is my first roo so i'm not sure exactly what else goes on during the headliners either). would friday night during tool have anything else more than sunday w/ panic b/c its not the last day of roo? thanks

Les Claypool's 5 gallons of Diesel dvd has Jimmy Herring playing on Buzzards of Green Hill at Jamcruise, and that performance is enough for me to sit and watch him with Panic. Otherwise, I am fairly unfamiliar with both WP and Jimmy Herring, though I saw WP in '05 and thought they were quite entertaining.
I'm impressed with the OP for being very diplomatic in that initial post. Too bad for the smitage.
I've seen WP once. I was not impressed. Part of it was that everyone around me seemed to be having so much better a time than I was, and I couldn't see the attraction. (I can be contrary that way.)
But that was in a really unlikely venue (Constitution Hall in D.C.). The best thing about that venue was the effect of the enhanced air in the closed room.
I am fully willing to accept that WP might suit me just fine at 'Roo. Capping off the festival and all that. I'm glad to be traveling solo, because I can decide at the very last minute what to do. Interesting to see that other people are considering leaving right after WS--that's my plan unless I get too into 'Roo or WP to extricate myself.
Now I'm wondering how far out of Manchester I'll have to get on Sunday night before I can find a decent, cheap motel...but that's for another thread.
I really hate being at festivals when they've wound down a whole lot--when the vendor booths are closed up and there are toothlike gaps in the rows of tents. It makes me sad. That's yet another reason for me to cut out after WS.

I thought they were good in 2005 at the Roo! And they seemed to have a huge following that night with plenty of people getting down. Wasn’t a George McConnel fan the past few years though, and I think he hurt them.
I am biased because I love Panic. But, I am in the same boat with Tool. I am not a Tool fan, but there are so many other things to do. Hang out with friends and have a good time. Relax and enjoy the night.
But in Panic's defense, they are a "live" band. They perform better live than on albums. And JB feels the music and you can hear that in the rhythm and when he sings.
Panic is not for everyone, but you shouldn't leave just cause you don't like them. There will be other memories made by just hanging out and having a good time. That is what Bonnaroo is all about.
And believe me, you won’t hurt anyone’s feelings, there will be plenty of people at the show seeing Panic and having an incredible time.

Same here, we are going to Guided Meditation and then take a nap and get ready for a late night with the String Cheese Incident and TBD.
I am not a big Panic fan and change them every time they come on Sirus radio.....I just do not get them...... I will still go and give them a chance...we are not leaving until monday morning so may as well enjoy
