So we have a schedule. At first glance, I have a ridiculous number of conflicts, probably triple what I've ever had before. I thought I'd start this thread as a place where people could work out what they are going to do. I'm not going to be there Thursday night, so I'll forego my schedule for Thursday.
Friday
1:15 - 2:15 (That Tent) Cold War Kids 2:15 - 3:30 (This Tent) Tortoise 3:45 - 4:30 (What Stage) Kings of Leon 4:30 - 5:15 (The Other Tent) Gillian Welch 6:00 - 6:30 (This Tent) Lily Allen 6:30 - 8:00 (Which Stage) Manu Chao (missing the Black Keys and the Roots=terrible)
12:45 - 1:45 (Which Stage or This Tent) Haven't decided yet - O.C.M.S. or Dr. Dog 2:00 - 3:30 (The Other Tent) Hot Tuna 4:15 - 5:30 (That Tent) The Hold Steady
BIGGEST TRAIN WRECK EVER
5:45 - 8:00 Float between Ben Harper, Ween, Franz Ferdinand, and Spoon (Worst scheduling of all time)
9:00 - 11:30 The Police
12:00 - 1:00 (The Other Tent) Girl Talk 1:00 - 2:30 (Which Stage) The Flaming Lips 2:30 - ??? (The Other Tent) Sasha and Digweed
SUNDAY
1:00 - 2:00 (Which Stage) Pete Yorn 2:30 - 3:15 (Which Stage) Wolfmother 3:15 - 4:30 (What Stage) Bob Weir and Ratdog 4:30 - 6:00 (Which Stage) The Decemberists 6:00 - 7:00 (What Stage) Wilco 7:15 - 8:45 (Which Stage) The White Stripes
I guess I'll do mine, get some of my excitement out...

Saturday, June 16: 12:45 - 1:15: Old Crow Medicine Show (Which Stage) 1:30 - 2:15: The Slip (That Tent) 2:30 - 3: Regina Spektor (Which Stage) 3:15 - 3:45: Annuals (That Tent) 4:15-5:30: The Hold Steady (That Tent) 5:45-6:15: Ween (This Tent) 6:30-7:15: Spoon (That Tent) 7:30-8: Franz Ferdinand (Which Stage) 9-10:30: The Police (What Stage) 11-2:30: The Flaming Lips (Which Stage - get there early to get a prime spot) 2:45-3: Galactic and co. I was about to make this thread, good thing I looked for one like it before I posted. Anyway, here is my tenative schedule:
Thursday
Lewis Black + Friends (Comedy Tent) - 6:30-7:45
The Black Angels (This Tent) - 8:30-9:30
Dubconcious (Cafe) - 11:45-12:45
Summary: The line up for Thursday isn't too great, I plan to get my comedy out of the way and hit up a few other small acts that I enjoy. I don't want to go overboard the first day, I want to take it easy and rest up for the rest of the festival where there are more bands that I really want to see.
Friday
Richard Thompson Band (Other Tent) - 2:00-3:15
The Nightwatchman (That Tent) - 4:30-5:45 which is an awful long set time, I am expecting some guests.
The Black Keys (That Tent) 6:15-7:45 RIGHT AFTER THE NIGHTWATCHMAN, how awesome is that
and if I can stay awake,
DJ Shadow (This Tent) 2:00-3:30 A.M.
Summary: Friday looks like a really good day, I will get to see a good amounts of artists in a close vicinity to each other, so I shouldn't be too tired by the time Shadow's set rolls around. I think I will sleep during the Tool show.
Saturday
Ziggy Marley (What Stage) 3:15-4:45
The Hold Steady (That Tent) 4:15-5:30, I will catch the end of their set
Ben Harper (What Stage) 5:45-7:45
The Police (What Stage) 9:00-11:30
The Flaming Lips (Which Stage) 12:00-2:30, if I can stay awake
Summary: Busy day, lots of great bands playing at bigger stages than previous days. I will have to run around a lot on Saturday, I may skip the Hold Steady (or more shows) depending on how I am feeling.
Sunday
T-Bone Burnett (Other Tent) 2:30-3:45...I'm not a big fan of him as a musician (he is a great producer) but I promised my dad I would see him if there was nothing else going on, and there isn't (sorry Wolfmother fans).
Wilco (What Stage) 5:30-7:00...Again, not another band I planned on seeing unless there was nothing else going on. I have heard good things about Wilco, and the stuff I have listened to by them has been pretty good, so why not.
The White Stripes (Which Stage) 7:15-8:45, what a close to Bonnaroo, doesn't get much better than this.
Summary: The White Stripes are the only band playing Sunday that were a must see for me. The other shows are a nice bonus to what I know will be an amazing end to Bonnaroo for me (Not for everyone, but Widespread Panic plays after TWS to offcially close the festival, and I don't really care for their music at all).

Thursday: Ryan Shaw The Black Angels End of Stanton Moore Trio The National Clutch (Latenight will be sweeeeeeet) End of Rodrigo y Gabriela if they're still playing.
Friday: The Little Ones (Sonic Stage) Begining of James Blood Ulmer Cold War Kids Tortoise Kings of Leon End of The Nightwatchman What Brazilian Girls i can catch (Sonic Stage) The Black Keys End of Tea Leaf Green (Sonic Stage) Tool SCI Whoevers playing, I'd see any of them
Saturday: American Babies Railroad Earth Begining of Regina Spektor Most of Annuals Warren Haynes Acoustic (Sonic Stage) Damien Rice WMD's Ween if they're still playing The Police Gov't Mule Whoevers still playing. (preferably Philadelphia Experiment)
Sunday: The Slip (Sonic Stage) JBT Maybe some Flight of the Concords or Sonya Kitchell T-Bone Burnett Rocco DeLuca The Decemberists Feist NMAS The White Stripes WSP

---EDIT--- updated for changes in plans and some intense listening since the schedule dropped:
Comedy and Jazz tent stuff is conditional on the length of the line (if any) and what else is going on while I would be waiting.

I was NOT impressed with the cd) 6 - 6:30 - Roots 6:30 - 8 Manu Chao (it hurts to leave the Roots early, but Manu is a MUST SEE) 9-11:30 Tool Latenight; Ravi & Mogo in the jazz tent (though I would like to check out the Superjam if that is in fact what it is)
Sat: 12:45 Dr. Dog 1:45-2:15 Wild Magnolia Indians 2:15-3:30 Hot Tuna 4-5:15 Fountains of Wayne 5:45 to 8: WEEN!!!! 9-11:30 - Police Latenight; Flaming lips till 2 (prolly won't play past that), then over to catch some of Philly Experiment. Sun: 1-2:00 - Mavis Staples & Charlie Louvin tent hopping (or waiting in line for comedy) 2: 3-25 Demetri Martin/Flight of the Conchords 3:15-3:45 - Wolfmother (I'll catch more of them and some of T-Bone too if I don't wind up in the comedy tent) 4:15-5:45 Junior Brown/Ralph Stanley tent hopping 6:30-8: Ornette Coleman!!! (I'm not missing a note) 8:8-45 - end of the White Stripes After that; I plan on crashing hard, maybe at Panic, or perhaps back at camp. Damn thats one full weekend. I am ecstatic.
John: We don't even understand our own music Spider: It doesn't, does it matter whether we understand it? At least it'll give us . . . strength John: I know but maybe we could get into it more if we understood it

Post by anima mundi on May 24, 2007 23:47:09 GMT -5
So far I'm thinking...
Thursday: All I'm really positive I want to see is the National, followed by Tea Leaf Green. That leaves time from 7 to 10 to get suprised by some new stuff, but who's it gonna be?
Friday: Cold War Kids, Tortoise, Hot Chip, The Roots, and Tool are set up nice as fairly clear cut choices for me. I have not seen one of these bands and look forward to catching all. Hopefully I can make it through the whole day with energy to spare for the late night, which I don't care to touch on because the scheduling makes me sad.
Saturday: Railroad Earth to ? to Xavier Rudd to Ween should play out well, then I can head over to hopefully grab a good spot for the Police. I'll then try and make a mad dash to the Flaming Lips, where I'm sure I'll see most of you, judging from the chatter on inforoo. After F'lips, hopefully Sasha and Digweed defy the schedule and play until sunrise, a la '06. If not, there's always the silent disco.
Sunday: I will probably hang around the main stage all day, probably with a walk over to the Which Stage for the White Stripes.

Friday Night Roots/Chao/Allen/Black Keys is probably my biggest conflict. So I picked the 3 I most wanted to see, although it's highly likely I could end up at any one I am enjoying the most for the duration of the show. Decemberists/Wilco/Feist was another problem for me, had to make the decision to leave Feist for another day.

Yeah. there are too many scheduling conflicts. but. here goes the list so far:
Thursday:
Mute Math [this tent] 10-11
Friday: Franti and Spearhead [wich stage]
Okay, here starts the problems...
I will watch the black keys [that tent] for 15 minutes. then move onto the roots.. [what stage] and be able to catch the last half hour of Manu Chao [wich stage]
Saturday: The Slip [that tent] hey. they are from here. i must support them. Regina Spektor [which stage] Ziggy Marley [what stage] Damien Rice [which stage]
Now the REAL problem lie. Spoon, ben harper AND keller williams all at once? what were they thinking. this spot. i still am unsure of who to go see...
the police [what stage] flaming lips ]which stage]
Sunday:
Pete Yorn [Which stage] Bob Weir and Ratdog [what stage] Decemberists [which stage] Wilco [last half hour.] [what stage] White Stripes [which stage] WSP [what stage]
and, i still need to fit in david cross somewhere. and flight of the concords. jeeeez. its going to be a busy weekend!
I never plan that much but my most likely to see a near complete set are
Thursday - Rodrigo y Gabriela Friday - Franti & Spearhead, SCI/STS9 Saturday - BenHarper, Police, F Lips/Mule Sunday - White Stripes
That's about all the hard planning I'm doing. I am obviously interested in seeing MANY more but may split shows and/or wander to several stages til one "grabs and holds" me.

I do appreciate this kind of planning. I'm obviously fighting overplanning the whole weekend.

here's mine so far, only a small amount of overlap at the moment
THURSDAY 6:00 – 12:00? (VIP) VIP thingy 10:00 – 11:15 or 11:45 – 1:00 (Comedy Tent) David Cross + Aziz Ansari 12:00 – 1:30 (That Tent) Rodrigo y Gabriela

Assuming i don't need pesky things like sleep or food and assuming nothing distracts me this is how I'm tentatively planning it out...
THURSDAY--
Lewis Black & friends hop over for most of The Little Ones Stanton Moore Trio Mute Math last half of The National Tea Leaf Green/ RyG The Whigs
FRIDAY--
Cold War Kids maybe some of Apollo Sunshine on the Sonic Stage Catch the beginning of Brazilian Girls Catch the end of Paolo Nutini Micheal Franti and Spearhead wandering around... Tool Then comes the conflict... Start at SCI, maybe check out Superjam, end up at STS9
SATURDAY--
Old Crow Medicine Show Warren Haynes on the Sonic Stage Xavier Rudd Ween/Keller The Police Mule>Galactic>Sasha and Digweed
SUNDAY--

OMG there is so much overlapping in my schedule that it actually looks like a "Shar Pei" Puppy. (Or wrinkle dog) Ok I guess I actually split myself in two or three and head in different directions. I'm actually a little disappointed in the latenights that are together! Thank you though for the fact they play for 3 hours! 1.5 here..........1.5 there........ That was the only huge glaring detail I noticed so far.
