this is new to ween's website this morning : With this update I'm pleased to announce the first new Ween release in a long while; "The Friends E.P." will be released exclusively on Chocodog Records on June 8. It will not be available in stores until at least a few weeks later. It features 5 brand new songs, none of which will appear on the new full length Ween album scheduled to be released this fall on a "real" record label, not Chocodog. We have recorded a lot of new material the past year and we wanted to give you an appetizer for the summer. It is is the ultimate party record, filled with good beats and good times. Perfect for your barbecue or doing bong hits or whatever it is that you guys do. You really need to buy multiple copies through this website. If you download it or burn a copy from a friend your karma will be so fucked that you will be reincarnated as a tumor on a rat's ass. We put a lot of time into this, like 4 years. What is that 9.5 months a song or something? You're gonna buy it on I-tunes? No way. Seriously though, you're gonna love it.
plus this: Ween summer tourdates Probably later on today I will be announcing the remainder of our summer tourdates, basically it has been condensed to 4 or 5 shows in Texas. Our concept of a full scale Texas tour didn't really work out the way we hoped. Anyway, check back later for more info.
Why is it that when Metallica rail against piracy, it just makes me want to barf, but when Ween put it so poetically, it makes me want to buy a nice legal original CD? (The presence or absence of a barf-inducing element in Metallica's music is not relevant to this specific debate)

^^^^^^^ 1. ween isn't taking anyone to court 2. ween is a band that makes a more than liberal use of HUMOR in their music and off-stage image. 3. Ween are not filthy rich-swine. They make a fairly moderate income compared to most of the anti-pirating puppets who speak out against it. 4. see comment #2. 5. This EP is an independent release. They see most of the profits from it. Metallica was only getting upset in public because their record labels told them to. They didn't stand to lose any $ from piriting their releases, but their label DID. 6. Again, see #2.

New Ween EP - Update: Due to circumstances blah, blah, blah, 'The Friends EP' will not start shipping until Tuesday, June 19th. Unfortunately, this also means that we will not have the EP in time for sale at our upcoming shows. However, we will start taking 'pre-orders' this Friday, June 8th at noon eastern through Chocodog. Orders will be processed in the order they are received.
i wonder if we'll still be able to purchase @ bonnaroo, looks like no
