am i wrong about what this is? is it like what the roots use to have every week back in the day, a jam session with all their friends? erykah badu would be there, jill scott, mos def, talib kweli, common. etc. if that's what it is, i won't miss it.

?uestlove hinted a reunion of his. This could be what he was refering to. That'd be pretty sweet. There are sooo many hip hop special guests this year.
as crazy as it sounds if someone confirmed erykah badu being there, i would camp out in that spot, don't care who i miss. i don't know why but i love her. and i've never seen her, which makes me want to even more.
The Philadelphia Experiment isn't a hip-hop jam. It's a jazz combo featuring Philly musicians. ?uestlove lays it down on drums, Christian McBride is a dope bassist, and Uri Crane is a real inventive pianist/composer. They recorded an album for BlueNote in 2001 or 2002 that was pretty good. It's more on the funk/fusion side of things.
I saw them live when they released their album and they were great. They mostly played material from their album, but they really took it out there.

I'd almost bet on SuperJam being the Word now that I understand what the Philadelphia Experiment was. In his comment on okayplayer.com's message board he said he'd be doing multi level jammin along the lines of what he did with Pino and Herbie in 05. He also mentioned a reunion of his old unit. He said he'd be playing around 4-5 hours or 2-3 days. The Roots are probably good for Friday's Which Stage preheadliner which would be and hour and 45 minutes and I suppose the Philadelphia Experiment could come after Medeski and Martin finish their set Friday night (Saturday morning). I don't know, it's a thought.

Im really surprised that more people aren't excited about this addition. Unfortunately, a burst water pipe about 10 feet behind me prevented me from posting last night. If it's true that there are no more additions, this definitely softens the blow.
I was born in the back seat of a Yellow Cab in a hospital loading zone and with the meter still running. I emerged needing a shave and shouted 'Time Square, and step on it!
The Philadelphia Experiment's album is nasty... This is more than a solid addition, it's freakin unbelievable considering they don't play live shows really ever

Exactly. I'm surprised all The Roots fans on here aren't going apeshit. Personally, this is my favorite addition.

I feel the same way with u i thought more people would be familiar with them but hey i guess that leaves more room for u and i during their show..
I think it's a crazy addition. Anything ?uestlove touches is ok with me, and unless there is a seriously good reason (necessity) to miss this, I'll catch the Experiment. If they're playing multiple times, no contest.
Goes to show how much some of these artists love playing Bonnaroo, that the festival can get these acts that never play together, based seemingly on word of mouth.

Go Titans!! By the way we did beat the Eagles last year also
Back on the subject at hand though, I think this show will be one of the best in the Jazz Tent and I just pray to god that they do not conflict with any other shows I will be interested in seeing.

It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."
