As Deaner put it after Richard Smoker "A f*ckin' Ball soaker." Hot as balls, Tiny 300-400 person bar, not even completely sold. Wild f*ckin night. Probably the best and certainly the longest Ween show I've seen. Clocked in at just shy of 3 hours!!! Three f*cking hours!! NO setbreak. Good god my face is covered in brown this morning.
They kept pumping the bar FULL of that fake smoke stuff. So far all of the really rare or jammed out tunes the bar was awash in nothing but smoke. It was sick. The opening trio of songs was just pure awesomeness. SCORCHING!! Really the whole show was f**king awesome. I would be hard pressed to pick a true highlight, but Fluffy has to be it, as I've never seen them do it. It was long and jammed out, just like the Poopship encore. The final four songs probably clocked in somewhere around 30 minutes, which is impressive for a band who comprises the majority of their show with 3-5 minute songs.
The new songs were all good, but I wish they had played DC Weekend and Fruit Man. Maybe at Roo though. Gener looked really healthy, much more so than the last time I saw him at Roo when he had to run off stage and come back onstage and smash something (gee I wonder what he did back there???). It lookes like he's got a new lease on life, as evidenced by the long long show.
Also there was a 3 camera setup with schoeps source taping the whole thing, so a DVD will probably surface soon!

too good. they are playing in my city the same night as dinosaur jr. and i was so torn. but, alas, ween is playing roo and dino jr. isn't, so to j. and co. i go.
