After seeing Bob's interview on the Bonnaroo site, I'm not too anxious to see them. He was kind of a prick! He talked about playing over our heads like we were all high-school kids! He made it sound like he was slumming when he plays Roo! That ain't cool! He should respect his audience or opt out, in my opinion! I will be skipping his set this year! I probably wouldn't "get" it anyway!

I thought conan was rather average. the vocals are always disapointing on those late night shows...but eeks..that drummer was not so good. I just thought they would do alittle something more. I'm not seeing ratdog at roo because of his lame interview, and because tapers will definitly grab that one for us all! Thanks Tapers.
They played a decent Jack Straw, but I probably won't be catching them at 'roo unless I somehow end up wherever they are and get one of those uncontrollable urges to take a seat in the shade.

I didn't see it that way. I took his meaning to be that at any festival there is a large percentage of the crowd who are not familiar with the bands music so for that reason they play shorter songs with more hooks because that is what will be more interesting to newbies. So yea, if he played longer songs with more jams it may not be over my head or your head but it may be for the ppl less familiar with the music.
I've sent in my application to the Real World. So I'm hoping to hear back from that. I'm putting A LOT of my eggs into that basket, the MTV basket. I'm also thinking about getting a gun, and dealing crack. Being a crack dealer. Not like a mean crack dealer, but like... like a nice one. Kinda friendly like, "hey, what's up guys? Want some crack?"
I thought the performance was shockingly weak. No disrespecting the guy, I love the Dead, but to me it was just bad. No Bonnaroo reference, I don't think.
Way to go EARTHISBIG, I completely agree with you. I watched the interview and I understood exactly what he was saying. I'd like to comment that I thought it was a very humble thing to say.

I only watched the "youtubed" clip, but all that was mentioned in that was Bob's tour with keller. Performance wasn't anything special in my opinion, but you have to consider that it ISN'T the dead, its ratdog. Different strokes for different folks and they wanted to play it that way. With Bob playing and singing he can't be too disappointed in what they're performing, just a somewhat foreign sound to all the listeners who are used to something else.

I thought it was pleasant, certainly a nice show to be sitting in the back and enjoying a meal to. I guess I can't see myself charging to the front, but barring any major conflicts, I'll be there...I've always liked his voice.
I havent seen the interview but. i love the dead and i cant put them down at all. I saw them him last year up and new york and they put on a damn good show. String cheese opened for them. I think everyone sould have a little bit of love for part of the dead!
