Has there been some kind of official word? Or is it speculation. I'm asking, because I would think latenight Friday is going to be the Roots. I am pretty sure someone said that they talk to whomever from the band, and they said they were latenight?
As far as I know I haven't heard anything saying the Roots are latenight. There is some stuff that ?uestlove has been writing about doing collaborations and whatnot, though. At this point, Fri late night has STS9 and the rest is anyone's guess. Last time the Roots played Bonnaroo, they headlined the second stage.

My hunch would be because of Galactic's new album which features hip-hop, and because Galactic's recent shows have included various mc's, and because Galactic will most likely get a late night slot (so i hope). Just a guess though..

While that is true, Galactic is scheduled for Saturday, not Friday. So, this still would not put them late night Friday.

Yeah I saw that. If you check the quannum site it has three different performances for Gift of Gab: with DJ Shadow, with Galactic, and then a "special set" with Lateef and Headnotic. Special set could be the superjam? I dunno...
