ACL airs at the discretion of your local PBS station. actually all shows on PBS do. The airtime and episode to air is left to the discretion of the station managers. So you are probably seeing last weeks ACL. you'll get it next week.
i dig john mayer anyway, kinda a guilty pleasure of mine
took my wife to see him in February. I'm not a big fan, but dug his work with the headhunters at roo 05 and the wife loves him, so i bought her tix for xmas. show wasn't too bad. Very much a teeny-bopper show and only 90 minutes in length, but the song "Gravity" had a long slow build that was very Trey-esque. I compare everything to Trey though. It's in my nature. My wife says John is better than Trey. We have a fundamental disagreement about this point.

My theory-He made that stupid Your body is a wonderland song to get his name out there. Then when everyone would love him no matter what he played, he started playing some really kick ass blues. Check this out.
Can you spot the influence? SRV!!!
Can't say I agree with your wife though about being better than Trey.
